POTUS's schedule for Thursday, August 16, 2012 President Obama, fresh off a three day bus tour through Iowa, has a low-key day planned at the White House with official meetings, all of which are closed. But the campaign, of course, continues. Yesterday, President and Mrs. Obama sat down for interviews with Entertainment Tonight and People Magazine and what was probably meant as more-featury interview, ended up making news with his comments of support Vice President Joe Biden and the divisiveness of the campaign. Perhaps in a subtle way of support, President Obama and Vice President Biden spend most of the day together in behind-the-scenes, closed-door meetings at the White House on Thursday. They'll get the daily briefing together and then have separate meetings with Secretary Clinton (presumably to get a briefing on her recent trip to Africa) and Secretary Geithner. They'll also have their weekly lunch together. The only time we’ll be able to get any more of a White House reaction is when Jay Carney briefs reporters at 11:30a for the daily White House briefing. President Obama spends everyday working on the economy. Those Republiklans in congress work just as hard to make sure he doesn't make any progress and when he doesn't they blame him for doing nothing! Romney only plan is to give more tax cuts to the rich so they can hide it in foreign countries. How's that going to work?

It really is amazing how much power the Republicans have concerning the economy. In 2007 and 2008, George Bush alone was responsible for destroying the economy despite the fact that House and Senate were controlled by the Democrats. And we all know the Democrats would never stand in the way of George Bush. Did it ever occur to you that the Democrats wanted the economy to fail to ensure their bid for the White House? Barney Franks had been warned.
In 2009 and 2010, Democrats controlled the House, Senate and the White House. But the minority Republicans still prevented progress. How is this possible? If the Democrats could pass the Healthcare bill, they could pass anything they wanted.
The President was going to focus like a laser on jobs. However, he has not met with his jobs council in, what 7 months.

Rudy Guiliani – I watched you on Pierce last night (by the way, Pierce you are a wonderful interviewer, even better than Larry King), and you are one of the most obnoxious of politicians. The way you have lived your life, cheating on your wife and family, makes you not qualified to judge others. If you are a true Catholic, why do you side with Paul Ryan whose philosophy has nothing to do with real Catholicism–concern for the poor, fighting for social justice, and treating everyone like a human being. I personally didn't see any thing wrong with what VP Biden said–he's right–we will all be in chains if Romney/Ryan get elected! Mr. G: you need to read the book "What It Means to be Catholic." Actually, there is one thing I have noticed about this election cycle. You may state that Republicans are racists for disagreement with Obama's policies. However, Romney and Ryan focus on the policies. I have not yet heard any ad directly insulting Obama. Now let's look at Harry Reid. He has an unnamed source, doesn't know if it is true and accuses Romney of not paying taxes while speaking in the Senate. The super PAC accused Romney of being responsible for a death. This is not policy this is personal. The fact that the man was fired in 2001, when unemployment was low, and his wife was diagnosed 5 years later seemed to miss some of you. Maybe there was a reason that the man could not find a job other than a janitor.
Now let's look at Jimmy Carter. He openly stated that anyone who does not agree with Obama is racist. Later he disagreed with Obama on Human Rights. Does this now mean Carter is a racist?
If Romney has a cook, he or she is paid for with Romney's money ... however, the Obama's personal, full time pastry chef, who they employ in addition to all their regular cooks, is paid for by our tax payer money ... just like all their other extravagant expenses ... $400 bottles of wine ... lobster ... party ... clothes ... trips ... etc. ... and, all while they pontificate to Americans about eating apple slices, and tightening our belts. Biden also called for a guy in a wheelchair to stand up and take a bow. He recently said we were in the 20th century. An Iowa deli owner agreed to serve President Obama's team and the reporters covering him Wednesday - but not without donning a shirt poking fun at one of the president's most infamous lines.
According to The Washington Post, Ross Murty, co-owner of the Village Corner Deli, wore a shirt emblazoned with the words
"Government didn't build my business. I did" as he served up food to the White House press corps.
"No one from the government was there when we were sweating it, when we were building this business," Murty reportedly said, explaining his choice of attire. The shirt referenced Obama's "you didn't build that" comment.
