On the road again President Obama is back on the campaign trail today. He will be stopping in Ohio and Nevada. Ohio and it's whopping 18 electorial votes favored Obama in 2008 yet elected a republican ticket to state office in 2010. After Ohio he will head to Nevada, a state he carried in 2008, stopping in Reno and Las Vegas. The latest polls show Obama leading Romney in Ohio by 6 points while in Nevada he leads by a slim 2 points. While you are on the thread Barrack how about answering us a few simple questions like when will you present a balanced budget to congress or will you wait until your last day in office and blame the weather, the sun spots, arab spring, winter and fall?
We can balance the budget tomorrow. Are you willing to pay that rate of tax? It is the responsible thing to do. Would crash the economy, but is clearly more American than ignoring the problem.
Let's not lie. Neither of you have a plan that balances the budget. Period.
The only difference is that Romney can't/won't score his budget with the CBO. You can't propose a 20% cut to marginal rates and call it budget neutral without itemizing at least some of the cuts you'd need to make. There is NO ONE with a college degree who has said that won't fall on the middle class. I'm not alleging a conspiracy, but acknowledging arithmetic.
Do you have any evidence that supports the specific cuts in the Romney plan that make you so certain that it is balanced and doesn't equate to a massive tax hike on the middle class?

To be accurate, we laid off something like 1.2 or 1.3% of the population from public sector employment last year.
I'm not against that, but I wish everyone would relax. If we're going to do what we need to do to balance everything out, we're going to need some intellect and patience.

It was entirely George Bush's fault even though Democrats controlled the House and Senate. In 2009 and 2010, President Obama could not move the economy forward because he was blocked by the Repos despite Democrats controlling the House and Senate. Why would Repos need to gain the White House, keep the House or take the Senate? It seems this group of clowns will still control the economy. If this happens, will you still be blaming the Repos four years from now?

Congress includes the House and the Senate. Republicans only control the House. The Democratic led Senate cannot even pass or attempt to pass a budget. I doubt seriously that the Republicans in the House have had a chance to pass more than 1000 bills concerning abortion. However, if you would like to list them, I will be happy to try and review them. Mostly what I found were state bills.
The Republican platform does not discuss abortion primarily because it is not the major issue today. It is the economy and jobs. Women have been more effected by job loss than men. With all of the comments I have read, I still see none that tell what Obama will do about jobs if re-elected. More of the same obviously will not work. Allowing tax cuts for those making over 250K will only bring in about 70 billion this next year. This will do absolutely nothing for the economy or the deficit. But, at least, it sounds good to the base.

Akin created EASILY the biggest political mess that we've seen in a long time. This one is sticky. It puts the conservative vote directly at odds with the independent vote....worse, the timing couldn't have been worse.
Within 24 hours of that comment, you had both the deadline on the MO ballot and the RNC was trying to roll out their plank again. For the past 4 elections, that's gone relatively under the radar even though it basically was exactly what Akin said...the Dems just never got them to put it in an interview. This is a mess.

You are right, kind of. Many of those bills were at a state level, but they weren't Republicans. They were teabilly freshmen who were allegedly going to act on fiscal issues, but just couldn't resist pushing a social agenda.
Now, at a federal level, there are what....30-some "jobs bills" on Reid's desk? You can't simultaneously complain about them sitting on his desk AND not complain about the ridiculous social riders added to them.
Planned Parenthood is not expensive and even the strictest of social conservatives believe it is pennies on the dollar going towards abortions-and that's debatable anyway. I don't fight over pennies when we're burning billions in deficit per day.
There is absolutely no justification for a fiscal conservative to insert defunding Planned Parenthood into any dialog. It's not pragmatic.
