U.S reliance on imported petroleum HAS ALREADY DROPPED DRAMICALLY in the past few years, efficency improvements, changes in consumer behaviours and increases in domestic production including the shale gas boom.
REUTERS reporting – Romney has given himself 7 years to achieve Energy Independence. Experts don't agree with Romney's reliance on oil saying that a REAL PLAN doesn't rely on fuels that will run out in a few decades.
Here are FOUR PARTS of the plan that ENERGY EXPERTS think won't add up:
1.) NURSING THE OIL ADDICTION
That doesn't solve the looming problem facing our country when oil is predicted to run out.

Mitch McConnell has made it clear his only goal is to see Obama removed – not one mention of trying to create jobs, or improve the operation of government. These guys have you bent all over backwards. The worse part is they are going to hurt the job creators in the long run if they had their way. It's time our government got back to work and funded – look sides need to work together to improve government efficiency and effectiveness, not tearing it down. Government is necessary, even in a capitalist system like ours.
What are you going to fund the government with, monopoly money? Rasing taxes on the "rich" will only last the govt a few weeks so where is the rest of the money for this grand utopia going to come from? You haven't quite thought this through, have you? While too many find this as some sort of virtuous sign of frugality, in fact this is a form of theft from the taxpayer. We, the People, provide Members of Congress salaries that - while far from those of the K Street Lobbyist crowd - put them at three times the average American wage, provide them free gym access (where Paul Ryan ever so loves to work on on other peoples' dimes), give them far more generous health insurance than the vast majority of their constituents have, and provide what all but the most-pampered CEO would call lavish retirement (without counting the $s from revolving door (lack of ethics) lobbying that enriches so many on leaving office)

Hell Bad Legistation also get's thru! But we have 3 Branches of Government so ther are checks and balances. Some bad legistatiion that got thru, with overwhelming majority in both houses are Social Securiy, Medicare, and Obama Care. It might not be so bad if we didn't have a 16 Trillion Dollar Federal Debt. That is why after 40 years of democrat rule the people threw out the democrats in 1994. He left a deficit of 4.6 T. This country has been in a deficit beginning around 1900. The banking and mortgage problem was caused by the Democrats in the House and possibly the Senate. They controlled Fannie Mae and pushed for loans to people who couldn't afford them. Barney Franks owns that one. The banking problem contributed to increases in unemployment. You really give George Bush remarkable credit. He was the lone person to cause all of these problems. Such power. Wouldn't it be nice if our current President had as much power as George Bush.

According to the CBO, active military personnel in 2000 and 2001 was about 1.4 million. A slight increase between 2000 and 2001. Active personnel in 2007 was about 1.4 million.
