White House brews its own secret beer

As we told you earlier in the week, President Obama recently told a voter at the Iowa State Fair that the White House has its own micro-brewery. CNN White House Correspondent Brianna Keilar follows up on finding the secret recipes.

How very 1% of the President, has his own Micro-Brew and Secret Recipe. I guess drinking the same beer we " minions" consume is below him.

It's OK for Obama to have a hobby. The beer may explain the President's 35 bowling average.

Wouldn't the fact that there is a microbrewery in the White House and that the President seems to advocate craft beers show he is like the common american. There is nothing elite about brewing your own beer, in fact by your comments you would have to regard Thomas Jefferson, George Washington, and Samuel Adams, two of which were presidents, as elitist, since they all brewed their own beer and were prominent Americans.

And this is news? Just when CBO released the projection of a US recession and unemployment to go up 9%, and the president and CNN talks about brewing beers? What would be the next news, when Obama makes what?? what?? what?? nothing, useless president. Sorry for my word but I am sadden by this president spending more time in the campaign than fixing the PROBLEMS for this country.

Obama cannot do anything when the republicans in the house of representatives will not compromise on anything. Ever since the republicans took control of the house of representatives the already slow legislative process ground to a complete halt. Nothing getting done the past 2 years? Dont blame Obama, blame the house of representatives and the idiots who elected them.

OABMA SCHEDULE FOR FRIDAY, AUGUST 24TH ...

Spend another month away from the White House campaigning and fund raising ... attend celebrity dinners while the economy disintegrates ... drive America another Trillion dollars into debt ... increase unemployment by another percent ...
insult and alienate another American ally ... blame everything on somebody else ... drive up gas prices (again) ... weaken our military even more ... join eric holder in breaking the law ... ignore & weaken the constitution ... demand extra credit for killing Bin Laden ... redistribute (steal) more of other people's money ... have statues erected to me, me, me !!!

The President cannot do anything with a majority in both houses of Congress, either, as he demonstrated during his first two years, with the exception of reimbursing his contributors losing even more jobs while indebting the Nation hundreds of additional billions.

U6 unemployment since 2006 when Democrats gained both houses doubled, but has leveled off slightly since midterms in 2010.

The country needs to get rid of Obama, or have the ability to over-ride Obama in Congress, when appropriate.

Maybe you should know that the House has passed several bills, but the Senate (Reid) will not take them to the floor for a vote. Also, the President has not met with the Republicans in over a year to discuss anything. I personally would like to see Air Force One grounded for a solid month to keep Obama's behind in the Oval Office and get something accomplished. Don't blame it all on the Republicans, There are two parties involved in bill passage. It is called working together. Don't say that I am a racist. I just don't like his Chicago style politics. Also Obama is not our first black president – he is half white...unless you forgot.

      • just_a_moderate

Realistically, what do you want? The House passes a "jobs bill" and then wants to defund ACA or Planned Parenthood.

Come on. You know you don't have enough votes to pass and the Dems know they don't have the votes to end a filibuster. It's just a waste of time. I kind of prefer that they not waste time on that. Maybe write a bill that finds the middle?

Realistically, a functional Congress would have bills going from chamber to chamber where the bills are constructed with the big agreements already in place. The solution to this is that both Republicans and Democrats need to call on their OWN party, not the other one, to start finding a way to work with the other side...and of course I said a functional Congress-this one is anything but.

In 2008 ... and for the years that followed, obama enjoyed the luxury of an extremely biased mainstream media, who pitched him ... protected him ... defended him ... and refused to vet him. In addition, in an effort to be 'politically correct', and avoid countless baseless accusations of 'racism', obama's opposition responded with their hands tied behind their backs. Today, however, the disastrous results of obama's failed policies are hurting millions of Americans ... and, in addition, his opposition has woken up, and is unafraid to tell the truth about this phony sacred cow. That's why movies, like 2016 Obama's Ameirca ... and The Hope And The Change are coming out. Everybody, except die hard obama stooges are finally realizing what a horrible failure he is ... and, how he has nearly destroyed America. American is much, much more important than obama ... and, in order to save America ... obama must go !!!

Why do REPUBLICANS always have to compromise, Democrats never do, its their highway or nothing, how about if the democrats would put forth a viable plan, or Harry Reid would allow some of the bills from he house come to a vote on the senate floor.

In the meantime CNN does not acknowledge that Holder is being questioned for abuse of FBI travel privileges, Obama botches the rank of top NavySEAL , the immigration agency is going to sue the obama administration to prevent amnesty and 70% of Obama's 19 million twitter followers have been found out to be fake

update to USA today story about fake twitter accounts.

But StatusPeople’s Rob Waller told Mashable in an email that the web-based tool has been upgraded to provide more accurate results.

“We released an update to our tool on Wednesday to make our App more accurate for those with larger follower bases,” Waller said.

We tried the tool ourselves, and discovered that 91 percent of this writer's 1,300 followers are valid.

We then used it against Barack Obama's Twitter account and discovered that 29 percent are fake, while another 39 percent are "inactive." Only 32 percent were reported as "good." Doing the math, we determined that out of 18,879,121 followers listed, 6,041,318.72 are valid. Rounding up, that leaves Obama with 6,041,319 real – as in sentient – followers.

A similar test against Mitt Romney's Twitter account found that 23 percent are fake, while 28 percent are "inactive." According to our results, just under half, or 49 percent, are "good." With just under a million listed followers, we determined that Romney has 445,313.96 followers who are actual human beings.

They both have done it and have about he same percentage of fake or inactive followers

      • just_a_moderate

Seeing as there is no in person voter fraud to speak of, the problem that any real American has with this is simple:

You know why troops die for us? To protect our freedom and its greatest gift: the right to vote. For you right wingers to shamelessly allow a red herring of voter fraud to help you disenfranchise people who aren't likely to vote for you is the lowest, scummiest thing that anyone could really do.

I would be less offended if you drank 2 gallons of gatorade and walked around Arlington Cemetery p issing on their graves. You're already p issing on what they died for.

That's not hyperbole. That's not too strong. What you folks are willingly doing is atrocious. Statistically, you know what you're doing. What I don't understand is how you are okay with it morally.

INEW D's aren't easy to obtain. Voting officials know this. More reason to impliment something like this before an important election. The problam is that many elderly Americans who have voted for years wont get a chance to because of new laws by the GOP. They can't use ID that worked for them in the past. But all that has a funny way of playing out. GOP will lose anyway despite their own rules & law changes...LOL

      President Obama's record!
Higher gas prices at the pump
      Cost of living going up
Average U.S. worker salaries going down
Higher cost for heath care (every day we find out more what NOT to like about Obama TAX)
      Unemployment above 8%
      Bad job growth
Growing national deficit (will be OVER 16 TRILLION in a few days)
      National security leaks
      Operation Fast and Furious
And list go on and on.......................

If you want low gas prices, just repeat 2008. Have unemployment go up 55%, have negative GDP growth, and crash the stock market. Gas prices were indeed very low in late 2008. That's not a good thing.

Voter ID law here in my state. I love it. Why should anyone be able to vote that isn't a legal citizen? ID's are free to those that need them. Also, every hospital visit, VA visit, airline trip, some prescriptions, blood donor, and numerous banking transactions, all require proof of Identification. Believe me, if they wanted any type of government or state assistance they would get the ID. Don't let someone take away my legal vote or yours. Evidently those that don't want this law, don't care about the legal US citizen.

      August 24, 2012 at 11:38 pm |
      • just_a_moderate

You asked why someone would object to ID laws...because none of the other discretionary items, like airline travel, are core items to our democracy.

For starters, in-person voter fraud simply is not occurring. The Republican National Lawyers Association is leading the research on this. They've looked high and wide-it simply is not a problem. Real voter fraud is much more likely to be a felon who is attempting to cast a ballot.

There is absolutely nothing lower than be willing to disenfranchise another citizen for political reasons. Period. Our troops give their lives to protect our freedom. I'm sorry, but voting and being a blood donor are not equivalents.

Furthermore, the law that was struck down in Wisconsin was exactly the point of the problem. There was a Vietnam vet who had a clerical error on his original birth certificate. He could not meet their proposed ID restrictions. I think purposely disenfranchising anyone is wrong, but you are actually willing to disenfranchise someone who was drafted to fight in our military for you? That's beyond absurd.

That argument seems ridiculous considering that the guy before him tested out in focus groups as the person you'd feel comfortable having pot roast with. Of course, governing has nothing to do with beer or pot roast. It's merely a measure of personal likability and that is absolutely a part of politics...this is the politics section of a website.

FYI, it's entirely possible to both intelligently disagree with Obama's policies AND acknowledge that he inherited a mess.
