Sorry this is so lengthy, but I had to give my rebuttal. It doesn't seem like our President holds himself as accountable as he said he would in 2008 (If I don't get this turned around... one term). I do not doubt your fondness for the BO, but I need to see some quantifiable statistics that he has turned this country and economy around. Anyone who has ever managed a P&L, or managed people knows it is all about results. Show me unemployment tracking in the right direction, quarter over quarter GDP growth, and get more people working and contributing. The fact that such a large percentage of the country does not pay taxes is staggering and sad. Growth, Innovation, Quantifiable Results, Freeing up entrepeneurs and industry to do what they do best.

As a basketball player all my life, any time I see the President's game, he is lofting up, lame, lefty jumpers. I met Senator Brown from MA recently and asked if he wanted to play BO one on one (Sen Brown played at Tufts). He said he would love to, but the WH has not responded. I am sure if it happened, ESPN would televise it, and it would be a great opportunity to raise money for worthy causes. I will give BO credit for hooping into his 50s! Well done Mr. President!!!

The evidence is clear: there is no license; there was no marriage. Ann took Obama's name, but there was no love, no estrangement, no coercion, no selfless gallantry in the "marriage." Obama was a financially desperate student who got a big break when the Dunhams found him and paid him to be a father in name only. Ann and son Barry went on with their lives, and Obama continued on with his studies.
Is it possible that our president doesn't know this? I find that hard to believe. I do know, though, that he used the compelling, but mythical, story of an African father and Midwestern mother to get elected. I also believe that whether or not Obama knew the truth about his parents' relationship, he didn't realize then that Obama Sr.'s Kenyan nationality would lead opponents to question his "natural born citizen" status.
In all likelihood, our President is a "natural born citizen" who was elected under false pretenses. Mr. President, in the next election, please run on your record and not a mythological past. History and your fellow citizens deserve this much.

A couple of Books written about Obama, AMATEUR and LEADING FROM BEHIND explains Obama to a T. True Obama is a good family man, but shouldn't be in the White House. The Fiscal Mess we are in has been building for the last 75 years, not the last 8. The Democrats had the Congress for 40 years. actuallt Obama said cut the deficit (not debt) by 50%. He has only managed to cut it by some 38% (versus the previous occupants last deficit) and that's with the Republicans blocking and filibustering at every turn. You talk about gas prices, but you forget that the President has NO CONTROL over gas prices. International demand is what drives gas prices. If you tell me we need to pump more out of the ground, I'll tell you that those oil companies will sell it overseas where they make more money. You would have to put in the XL pipeline and then MANDATE that fuel is specifically for the use of the US and Canada. Is that going to happen? No, because "Big Oil" won't let it happen. There is only so much oil in the ground. We need to diversity our energy portfolio. Fracking needs to be further explored. Wind, Solar and other methods need to be explored. This money comes from the government because it is in ALL of our best interests to have a secure energy future.
I'm not overly thrilled with Obama, but compared to the "Economic wild, wild west" that Romney / Ryan support... tearing down all the regulation, drill for oil everywhere, stop all the subsidies for alternative energy is a misguided path. We need to progress to the 21st century... the car, oil, and coal are 19th century technology. Yes, it's gotten better, but my 1989 Dodge Colt got 42 mpg combined and nearly 50 mpg on the highway... how many cars do that now, nearly a quarter of a century later.

This restriction on "free exchange" restricts competition and therefore keeps prices higher. Imagine if all refineries could just make one formula of gas, the creates efficiencies of scale. Also, it is almost impossible to open a new gas refinery due to EPA licensing requirements. Without more refineries, you restrict supplies and keep prices higher. Obama likes high gas prices to make Electric cars more competitive, so he has no incentive. Getting more oil out of the ground will help. Oil prices are set "on the margin" based on international supply and demand (and a little bit by speculation).
