President pledges "those who attack our people will find no escape from justice"

(CNN) – President Barack Obama on Saturday mourned the week's attacks on a U.S. consulate in Benghazi, Libya which killed four Americans, including the U.S. ambassador to the country.

"These four Americans represented the very best of our country," he said in his weekly address, naming Glen Doherty, Tyrone Woods, Sean Smith, and Ambassador Chris Stevens.

Woods and Doherty were former Navy SEALs, while Smith had served in the Air Force and was a computer expert.

Violence erupted this week in Benghazi and elsewhere in the Arab world – from Morocco to Tehran – based in anger over an inflammatory anti-Islam film. The film was posted online this summer but discussed and aired only recently in portions of the Middle East.

Protesters clashed with police in some cities on Friday, gathering in public squares and outside of embassies.

On Friday, Obama and Secretary of State Hillary Clinton spoke at a Transfer of Remains ceremony near Washington, D.C. when bodies of the four were returned to the U.S. Clinton referred to the "awful internet video that we had nothing to do with" and called the violence "senseless and it is totally unacceptable."

In his weekly address, Obama reiterated his message from previous statements, that "those who attack our people will find no escape from justice.

"We will not waver in their pursuit. And we will never allow anyone to shake the resolve of the United States of America," he said.

The president said he and the country "reject the denigration of any religion, including Islam. Yet there is never any justification for violence."

Obama and Republican presidential nominee Mitt Romney exchanged sharp words in statements and interviews, with Romney saying the Obama Administration "sympathize[d] with those who waged the attacks" and Obama charging Romney "seems to have a tendency to shoot first and aim later."

Obama – go after the film maker

yes you have free speach but it is deadliy and some times promotes hate

In Canada we have free speach but we also have HATE LAWS

if this film maker was in Canada – he would be charged under our hate laws and fed to polar bears

Maybe Jean should move to Canada.

Interesting how both of you feel you can freely express your self here on this blog, call people names, (another form of hate speech) all with out impunity. Yet want to restrict others in what they can say.

Or is it with impunity. Oh, well, you get the point.

I agree with you, we need that law here. One person can turn the world upside down for his own hate.

I agree. Like, freedom of speech is one thing, respect is another. We have hate laws here too. But they only enforce it for gay discrimination or Racism against blacks. Sad right?

Obama is responsible for these deaths. His administration continues to apologize and blame others. Now we learn that Obama is cutting embassy security by $129,000,000.

Embassies have never been armed camps and never were intended to be. Do we want foreign embassies with consulates in our nation's Capital armed? It has always been up to the host country to provide security. As for all the silliness by the are the facts.

Our embassies historically have never been armed camps.
Plus, 7 embassies were stormed and people died under George W. Bush.

2002 the U.S.Consulate in Karachi, Pakistan 10 killed, 51 injured.
2004 U.S. Embassy in Uzbekistan was bombed -2 killed inuring several.
      2004 U. S. Consulate Saudi Arabia – 8 killed
      2006 U.S. Embassy Syria – 1 killed several wounded
2007 U.S. Embassy Athens – was hit by a launched grenade building empty at time.
2008 U.S. Embassy Serbia – Set on Fire
      2008 U.S. Embassy Yemen – bombed 10 killed.

Typical Jean response. Show how things failed under President Bush then say, look, it's OK that Obama did the same thing.

Also, did I say that it should be a armed camp? No, I only pointed out that Obama is cutting security. Looks like the Liberals would at least agree on that point, that it is not time to cut security.

This gets to the root of the reason Obama is such a failure, he is never challenged by his supporters. Imagine if a chef was never told that the food was too salty. Or if a ballerina dancer was never told that she had missed the mark. This is what is wrong with Obama. His supporters just keep on clapping and cheering. Never offering him real feed back. Tell him when he as done wrong. Sometimes I feel sorry for him. But then again it is the world he chose to live in.

Oh look at the brainwashed Teapotty sheep below that can't deduct the simple fact that everything wrong didn't start on Jan 20. 2009, but that it has been an ongoing process...since the war of 1812! Not a Democrat, you are looking at just one date since 2008.....maybe we should wonder who paid those Egyptian protesters...follow the money! So yes things are getting better.

Jean2009 this statement is the most rediculous I have heard you make...

Embassies have never been armed camps and never were intended to be. Do we want foreign embassies with consulates in our nation's Capital armed? It has always been up to the host country to provide security.

In fact the Marine corps has a battalion sized organization (called the Marine Corps Embassy Security Group) that provides security at American American Embassies and consulates. You can bet your last dime that they are armed.

Then you turn around and say later that embassies in our nations capitols have armed guards as well... your respnse to Blaine

Yes Blaine, they are, and if you will check there are jobs available for security details to work at foreign embassies in the capital. They do hire Americans for several jobs..

It seems you have a bad case of Obamaitis

As you can see the rest of the world is quite tightly wound if they will kill because of what someone else believes in a religous conotation. Now people are being killed openly. maybe the film was not so off key if it can insight this kind of response. If I were the president, all of the countrys thay allowed our people harm would never recieve anothed dollar of our money. ever ever ever. I am a cathlic and don't remember any one in this country dying because some one of another sect did not like there views. At least not before knowing who if what wrote that poor movie and blaming a whole nation. We have come full circle havent we.

Probably a few more "stern"warnings not to do it again, oh and btw here is 1.3 billion dollars for your military.

"Do we want foreign embassies with consulates in our nation's Capital armed'?

Are you that nieve to think they are not armed? Absolutely they have armed men in their consulates.

It's really clear by now that Obama's attitude and policy in the Middle East have been proven to be completely ineffective. His economic policies are non-existent, and now his foreign policy is being unmasked as being inept. Want any more proof America that this president is taking us in the wrong direction?
I have my doubts about Romney – but I have NONE about Obama!

Obama is finding out just how hard it is to be President on the United States. He tried to set a good example of re-setting relations with the Middle East. If he skpiped breifings on the situation in the Middle East he failed the Citizens. There is no compomising with the Militants that want to destroy the United States. It appears Obama doesn't understand that. He probably does understand but refuses to recogonize the facts as would be relayed to him if he attended the briefings. At least Bush understood the problem. Obama has failed as the President. Draw your own conclusions.

Let me put this bluntly...I for one do not think that our duly and legally elected president should assume the position at the whim of Bbi Netanyahu. For any foreign party to assume he would is beyond belief. Our president's job is to represent the best interests of the American people and not kowtow to someone from abroad who always has their hand out. I am appalled that Robme and Lyin Ryan indicate they would be willing to bend over.

Standing by Israel is not the same as bending over on demand!

supporting the only democracy in the middle east is bending over? obama supports the Arab Spring movement...their move to democracy (or you may really call it movement toward Islamist governing, if that is freedom)...and yet won't support Israel...don't that make even you wonder, Jean? Or is it since obama is black and you're black that is enough for you to drink his cool-aid. Of course you still believe he is an American African American...because you don't know him do you?
