Michelle Obama to visit "Live with Kelly and Michael" WHITE HOUSE (CNN)—First Lady Michelle Obama will hit the daytime talkshows once again in the final weeks of her husband’s re-election campaign. Mrs. Obama will tape an interview with “Live with Kelly and Michael” on Wednesday in New York. Co-host Kelly Ripa announced on Monday’s show that the segment will air on Friday. Her appearance will be the First Lady’s second time on the show this year. In June, she appeared on the show to promote her book American Grown: The Story of the White House Kitchen Garden and Gardens Across America . She also surprised a jump-roping team with a demonstration of her double-dutch jump-roping skills. Republican candidate Mitt Romney and his wife, Ann, appeared on the show in September where they talked about reality TV star Snooki, his pet peeve of Ann’s method of squeezing toothpaste out of the tube, and an embarrassing moment of walking in on former President George W. Bush receiving a massage during a White House visit. Last week, Mrs. Romney co-hosted ABC’s “Good Morning America” with George Stephanopolous where she made her famous Welsh cakes and interviewed a thoroughbred rider from the Paralympics games in London in August. |

Since it is a foreign policy debate, I bet Libya will be the first thing discussed. I hope you are not one of those who really think that the President has something to hide and all republicans want to do is just get the facts. Since day one of the President Obama's administration the republicans have made no honest effort to work with him. There are plenty of subtle ways Romney can bring Libya into the fray - and you can bet Obama will swing the conversation against Romney and Bain even if they discuss Cheetos. salesmen here had a woman in his office yesterday wanting to lease a brand new Focus. As he was reviewing her credit app with her he noticed she was on social security disability. He said to her you don't look like you're disabled and unable to work. She said "well I'm really not, I could work if I wanted to but I make more now then I did when I was working and got hurt" (non-disabling injury).She said the gov't sends her $1500.00 a month in 1 check; she gets $700.00 a month on an EBTcard (food stamps), and $800.00 a month for rent. Oh yeah and 250 mins
free on her phone. That is just south of $3500.00 a month.When she was working she was taking home about $330.00 per week. Do the math and then ask yourself: "why the hell should she go back to work?" If you multiply that by millions of people you start to realize the scope of the problem we face as a country. Once the socialists have 51% of the population in that same scenerio we are finished........ and we are real, real close. The question is: when do we cross that threshold if we haven't already?
She didn't lease the Focus here because the dealer down the road beat our deal by $10.00month. Glad to know she is so frugal with her hard earned money!

First of all, I think what she told you was an outright lie because she wanted to be able to lease the vehicle.
In a dealership Finance Office you've got two liars: The first one is the Finance Man filling the customer with lies to try and talk people into leasing a vehicle, instead of outright purchasing the car (more money is taken in by the dealer when a customer leases.) The second is the customer who tries to "puff up" their income levels to quality to purchase or lease. So, I don't believe either one of you. Why even post such nonsense. Makes YOU look bad.

I am saddened that a first lady of the United States would mention such a book to young children. This book contains murder, revenge, teenage sex, rape, 12 year old drinking, murder and the 'N' word. One character, Guitar, lies in his bed, figuring out how to bomb a white church and kill four little white girls. Throughout the novel, white creatures are symbols of impending harm or wrongdoing. Could she not think of anything better than this racist, foul language, hate-filled book?

I do agree that she could have left that one out, but it was one of her favrites and I doubt any of the chldren's parents are going to let them read it. That is where parental control becomes necessary. I have read "Song of Solomon" and it is a good book.
I think it is as if she had said, oh, kids, now you have had orange juice, and apple juice, but let me tell you my favorite drink, rum and coke. It is my favorite drink. I drank the bottle completely. It would be inappropriate for a teacher it is defiantly so for the First Lady.

Lette, my complaint is not if the book should exist or not. It is that the First Lady should not have suggested it to 8 and 11 year old children.
Just because I find the language in the book offensives does not mean that I am a racist. It is funny because you assume that I am Caucasian, therefore would not that make you the racist?

The Obama's have done the talk show rounds more than I think is normal for a sitting president and his wife. At we know when he's out of the White House they will have a job in Hollywood hosting some left wing talk show. They will surely have some weekly thing to ban for our own good. Yikes. Really I hope that when Romney wins the Presidential role, he is less apt to whore himself out so easily to every flippin talk show out there.
