CNN Poll: Romney 50% – Obama 49% in Florida

(CNN) – With eight days to go until Election Day, a new survey indicates an extremely close race for Florida's 29 electoral votes.

According to a CNN/ORC International poll released Monday, 50% of likely voters in the Sunshine State say they are backing Republican nominee Mitt Romney, with 49% supporting President Barack Obama. The former Massachusetts governor's one point margin is well within the survey's sampling error.

Romney has flip-flopped on every major issue, and has no clue what effect his grand schemes would actually have were he able to implement them. He is all hot air. I mean take this nonsense for example: "From day one I will label China a currency manipulator". And what will that acheive exactly you stupid pillock?

And his idiotic "belief" (because of course he doesnt really believe any of it) that somehow giant technology companies like Apple should be manufacturing in the US. And how many billions of tax payer money will we be subsidising these great US firms to pay ten times Chinese salaries, not to metion all other costs. The man spouts nonsensical b.s. like its going out of fashion.

The only thing consistent and trustworthy thing about him as that he is a two-faced nasty piece of work, with no plan whatsoever, except trying to become President for the sake of becoming President (oh and giving his multi-millionaire/billionaire pals huge tax breaks which they do not need in the slightest (see Warren Buffet).

That coupled with giving Wall Street a free rein worked SO WELL when Bush did it that it led to perhaps the greatest global economic meltdown in history from which only now is the global economy slowly starting to recover from. LETS DO IT AGAIN!!!!!!

As an Obama supporter it shouldn't be difficult to understand why people are now moving to Romney. Look at the post you responded to – the main point of the post is "Romney flip flops", but the post DOES NOT PROVIDE ONE EXAMPLE!
Working people understand why Obama needs to go. We also know Romney would be the better person to fix the economy.

The real fault here lies with the media. Our supposed government watch dogs now sit like lap poodles waiting for the next talking points release from the W.H. Lybia proves once again how dangerous their collabittation habits really are for Americans. Little wonder why Americans no longer think of CNN as the most trusted network on news.

Martin, the GM representative, said Romney's ads show that the candidate is "bereft of any fundamental understanding of the global automotive industry.

"All global manufacturers, whether General Motors, Ford, Chrysler or VW, build historically in the markets in which we sell," he continued.

Mit Romney is an opportunist and will say or do anything to suit the moment in order to get what he wants. He does't care about the majority of American people. His reason for running for President is is only for his own prosper and to serve his wealthy supporters. They aren't investing millions of dollars for nothing. If he wins he will be their puppet and the American people will pay for it.
He refuses to answer reporters questions because he dosen't want to stick his foot in his mouth with only a few days left before the election. If Mitt Romney wins, Americans will find it difficult to adjust to the extreme right wing changes.

Florida residents had better take note as to what Romney states about FEMA. Florida is always in danger of a hurrican, storm etc. and Romeny does not think FEMA should help out, he thinks the burden is on the states. When a natural disaster occurs, it is the burden of the entire UNITED STATES and not just one state. Pay close attention as to how he would handle the Sandy hurricane. You would get no help from FEMA.

Fellow Americans... Please consider the facts: The republican agenda for 8 years brought America into a recession with wars and debt, then the republicans did everything they could to "ensure Obama fails" by obstructing every plan Obama had to help our economy, THEN the republicans want to get into the White House again with romney and lies. It is sad that anyone would EVER vote for a republican. The republicans are literally internal terrorists that hurt America with their own greedy agenda. OBAMA / BIDEN 2012!

I voted for Obama and I should have looked at his resume – No Real Job prior to his political career. But the worst has been his Benghazi mess, he lied to us, the UN, the world and expected us to believe whatever came out of his mouth. Even though he left 4 men for over 7 hours to die. Shameful, and he wants to represent the US in this way. Nope, he is a more than proven liar.

John wrote: "the main point of the post is "Romney flip flops", but the post DOES NOT PROVIDE ONE EXAMPLE!"

That's easy. Here's one right off the top of my head. There is plenty of video of Mitt saying he was 100% in FAVOR of "women's right to choose" during the Massachusetts run for governor in 2002. And, contrast that with now, where he not only wants to defund Planned Parenthood, but "no abortions, no exceptions" is written into the GOP platform. That's just the start, you can look at YouTube for all the ways that Romney has been on both sides of many issues.

And, then there are the flat out lies, like the recent whopper about Jeep relocating to China, which the auto makers debunked. You can add that to the big "welfare to work" lie from earlier in the campaign.

In that case, the Obama administration changed the welfare rules simply to allow the states to have more say in administering how their own welfare to work program was carried out, the GOPers FALSELY claimed that Obama wanted to end the program.  And Romney absolutely KNEW this was false.

Romney was one of the GOP governors that signed a letter to the Bush white house in 2005 requesting just this change in the first place.  And some of the other GOPers who also signed that letter (including Rick Perry and Mike Huckabee) sat at the RNC and let this lie be repeated at the convention without saying anything.

The GOP has nothing but flip floppers and liars.

Clinton was disbarred by the State of Arkansas.

He also paid a $25,000.00 fine there. This was all over the Lewinski incident.

He also paid an $850,000.00 settlement over the Paula Jones incident.

He was also disbarred from practicing law in front of the Supreme Court.

So Bill Clinton, a disbarred lawyer, a President who was impeached for lying under oath, asks the American people to believe him when he says the best thing for the country is 4 more years of 0bama.

At least he paid his fines...unlike Romney, avoiding to pay his rightful taxes and also lied under oath to keep his buddy, the owner of Staples, from paying his wife a sum of money in their divorce settlement. But, he want us to believe that he believes in women rights.

No BOOB President Obama and Michelle did not lose their law licenses...and by this time you and everyone else who has posted that lie has had time to check the real facts, and the truth at Urban Legends, Fact Check, Lie Pie and every other site that supplies the real skinny about viral emails. But then all the GOP Tearepugnants know how to do is lie so why would you be any different....chip off the ole Romney block...right?.

"Did obama lose his law license?"
"No he did not. When he decided to pursue a career in politics, he allowed his law license to lapse, since he was no longer going to be practicing law. But since he was a lawyer in good standing, he can renew it any time he chooses to." – quoted from: wiki
        Related Answers:
Did Michelle Obama lose her law license?
She was no longer going to practice law, so she put her license on "inactive" status, which any lawyer may."

It can be expensive to keep a law license active, plus require continual renewal studies to be up and current on the latest going inactive can save both time and money if one is not going to be practicing law.

        This from Fact Check. org
"Q: Did Barack and Michelle Obama “surrender” their law licenses to avoid ethics charges?

A: No. A court official confirms that no public disciplinary proceeding has ever been brought against either of them, contrary to a false Internet rumor. By voluntarily inactivating their licenses, they avoid a requirement to take continuing education classes and pay hundreds of dollars in annual fees. Both could practice law again if they chose to do so."

So poor unprivileged Michelle got her schooling paid for by taxpayers, then decides that she will not use that degree after all. What a waste. Her attending school someone else was denied the opportunity. What a waste.

Typical Liberal response is that she only recently paid off the school loans. Yet no one will ever give proof of how much she borrowed and how much was paid for by her Uncle Sam.

      • John

Jean, A "Voluntary Surrender" is not something where you decide or forget to renew your license. A "Voluntry Surrender" is something you do when you've been accused of something and you "voluntarily surrender" your license 5 seconds before the state suspends you..
None of us really know what happened. Just another example of the non-transparent president.

Wealthiest Americans get Bush tax cuts, on top of an additional 20%. This means they essentially contribute nothing. In order to do this, the middle class will carry the load. Mitt's plan to push disaster relief, healthcare, Medicare to the bankrupt states is impossible. Add to this the gutting of the EPA (which has been their plan all along) you will see cancer rates, asthma, and other sicknesses skyrocket...Mitt's plan is that preexisting conditions aren't covered..he lied, you can only be insured if you are insured (if you have a preexisting aren't insured). This will push healthcare costs higher, and put healthcare into the hands of only the wealthiest Americans. Our infrastructure will crumble so we can spend trillions more on unwanted military spending. And on top of that, he has advocated war in Iran..he lied in the debate, that has been fact checked as well. Mitt is an extremist, and America won't survive what he has planned.

@ john You can easily check this out at snopes, and with the state of Illinois, both of which say they have a law license which due to their own request is inactive, and if either or both so wished to actively practice law there would be no problem with them doing so. But then I think you don't want to check it out since it would prove you both a liar and a fraud.

Listen to some of Obama's old speeches from 2008.
      Obama completely changed.
In 2008, he claimed that he wanted to unify the country and that he saw Americans as Americans
That's not how the Emperor Ruled the country.

Vote for the man not his money.
How much political power does the top 1% wealthiest American’s wield in the control of our medical care, our pensions, our salaries, our elected leaders, our public utilities, our environment, education, reproductive rights and in general our entire quality of life? I say TOO MUCH and not because of big government but because of the men/women buying politicians – men exactly like the Koch brothers who are pulling the strings in every major election. And who falls all over himself at the Republican convention to embrace David Koch, I think we all know who.
I vote for men or women who will put country before profit, who will fight for the least of us, who will know 1st hand on a daily basis what it means to be born into poverty, who has had to watch family members suffer because of uncovered medical conditions, tragic accidents, mental health problems, firings because of age, medical conditions, sex, life style prejudices.
Mitt Romney is not this man as proved by his callous remarks and his full embrace of the Koch brothers’ power and money. Mitt Romney was MIA with 4 student deferments during the Vietnam War and I hope that after Tuesday, November 6, 2012 he will be MIA again. Maybe someday Mitt will be his own man and follow his own convictions but that day is not now.
Until that day, President Obama has earned my trust and loyalty with his 100% commitment to 100% of the American people and he will be my choice for President of the United States.

This election is not about solving quantum gravity, is not about metaphysical wizardry, is not about religion, is not about gun control, is not about abortion, is not about having an MBA, is not about charisma, is not about race, is not about gender, is not about the best political slogan, is not about a newspaper’s endorsement, is not about disenfranchised voters, is not about gotcha gaffe’s, is not about red states – rednecks and blue states – bluebloods, is not about immigration, is not about military might, these are just red herrings for the politician’s to dish up to their uninformed or in most instances misinformed constituents.

        Then what is it about?????

        IT IS ABOUT:

FROM CCNMONEY.COM “The gap between the rich and the middle class is larger than it has ever been due to the bursting of the housing bubble.
The richest 1% of U.S. households had a net worth 225 times greater than that of the average American household in 2009, according to analysis conducted by the Economic Policy Institute, a liberal think tank. That's up from the previous record of 190 times greater, which was set in 2004. The elephants have certainly been making hay from 2002 – 2009 and studies from many sources say so. Now the donkeys want some of that hay as it has been a lean 8 years for them. The herd (middle class) is shrinking, if they become extinct who would protect and defend the elephants.
The donkeys have gotten a little fatter for 4 years but are still endangered. My vote is to let them have a little more to ensure their survival and if they have made substantial gains on their own, with some elephant muscle, cut the cord in 2016 and go after the Chinese for economic supremacy in the world. As we all know “might makes right”, and we have certainly been right in securing the best democracy to ever exist.

Polls don't accurately reflect the voting base. It completely excludes the youth and latino vote. Don't be dismayed when Florida and Colorado go blue. Today's polling techniques are not in tune with today's methods of communication. It doesn't matter, Ohio, Wisconsin and Iowa are going blue. When Romney loses, you can point to him kicking in the teeth of American Auto Manufacturing as the reason. That and the "self deportation" thing.

If you don't know how to spell Mexico, or if you don't proof read blogs you post for the entire world to read, your political opinions are at the very least irrelevant. Have any of you actually looked at the present electoral map? I'm not voting for either of these nuts, though I would take the devil I know over Romney, but Obama's going to win this in a landslide. It reminds me of the film Great White Hype. Everyone spends all this time and effort promoting the challenger even though he doesn't stand a chance. This election will be over by 9:00pm EST. And that's probably for the better. Better hunker down my little racist, illiterate fellows, four more years is all but certain. Good luck, and may your fake god bless you.

Governor Christie and the other state governor's high praise of President Obama's quick response and coordination with FEMA to help the victims of Sandy says it all.

On the other hand, you have Romney going to Ohio campaigning in the name of getting food donations when the RED CROSS plainly asks not to send goods now because they dont have time to sort through it all. The Red Cross needs financial donations, they know best what is needed. Romney who wants to cut federal FEMA funding doesn't have a clue to reality.

hey dillon, get a clue. obama has single-handedly increased our debt by 6 trillion! if he is re-elected, count on the dollar going down the tubes completely. for the first time in our history, canadian citizens are better off financially than americans. my new niece was born owning $50K 6 month ago. What's more, not only will his health-care "plan" (AKA health-care disaster) ruin health-care, it will ruin our economy. hope you won't be needing any surgeries on a timely basis, because you'll have to wait about 10 months for any.

Lets take a moment to reflect on Obama true plan for the next 4 years should he win.
      Here are some specific items:
      Detailed plans to enact single-payer health care legislation controlled by the Federal government regardless of any Supreme Court decision to overturn Obamacare;
      The recreation of a 21st century version of FDR's Works Progress Administration (WPA) program within the Department of Labor that would oversee a massive new bureaucracy and millions of new Federal jobs;
      Further gutting of the U.S. military in shocking ways, while using the "savings" for a new "green" stimulus program and the founding of a Federal "green" bank to fund so-called environmentally friendly projects;
      The vastly reduced resources of the U.S. Armed Forces will be spread even thinner by using them to combat "global warming," fight global poverty, remedy "injustice," bolster the United Nations and step up use of "peacekeeping" deployments;
An expansive new amnesty program for illegal aliens linked with a reduction in the capabilities of the U.S. Border Patrol and plans to bring in untold numbers of new immigrants with the removal of caps on H-1B visas and green cards.

When a President out right lies to the citizens.... People still vote for him! Really goes to show you how dumb some people are! The video was a cover for the killing of our men, the men Obama chose not to save... One or a hundred soldiers, No soldier gets left behind! People who vote for him are not for America! As Obama puts guns and ammo in the hands of OUR enemies and his followers still follow him! What shame!

This two bit community organizer doesn't have a clue about how to build a business. Not suprising, since, he never worked at real job in his entire life.

In 2008, it was a noble decision to elect America's first black President ... unfortunately, the wrong black person was chosen for such an honor, and such a responsibility. Obama has squandered this historic opportunity, and betrayed all those who elected him ... with irresponsible spending ... failed policies ... division ... cronyism ... as well as lies and cover ups, in order to hold onto power. What a shame. To reelect Obama simply because he's America's first black President ... would surly be an act of racism. America is more important than Obama ... Obama is expendable and replaceable ... America is not. Save America ... replace Obama, and his corrupt administration on November 6th !!!

You need a serious reality check. Look what Romney did with Jeep and the auto lies. Wake up are promoting a man who wants to get in for the sake of getting in. His policies and suggestions about what Obama has done and what Obama stands for are lies. You know it and now almost everyone with half a brain is watching Mitt slander himself. Phony man...phony policies...phony people who promote him...liars. See you in 4 years....Obama is leading in Ohio now...more on the way ...adios!

Totally agree; don't know how anyone can trust Mitt Romney. He and Ryan will destroy medicare and keep taxes low on the very rich. That is one reason we are in this mess. Also, he did not want to help the auto industry and does not want to help those of us underwater on our mortgages. He just doesn't care. All you retirees in Florida better wake up!

Governor Romney wanted to let Detroit go bankrupt (his editiorial, not mine).

Mr Romney wanted to let home foreclosures hit bottom (his words, not mine).

He says we can't afford FEMA and we should turn it over to the states. (his words, not mine)........

The Governor is a very dangerous man. Certainly the wrong type of leader for these precarious times.

hahaha...and that is ALL you got. Listen, Romney has a five point plan...and it is very discriptive. And, yes he said these jobs need to move to America...we are MORE productive than the Chinese. You see it is obama policies that have warped your actually believe American companies would prefer to operate over seas. You probably have not heard GM is preparing for MASSIVE layoffs...after the election. Jeep is preparing to move to Italy(wages there are not cheep), Boeing is asking their suppliers to move production to Mexaco...AND ALL OF THIS IS OBAMA'S BABY.

So, you obama-aholics get this straight: IF YOU VOTE HIM BACK IN YOU WILL BE STANDING IN SOUP LINES IN A VERY SHORT FEW YEARS...and, you can put that in the bank! If men like Romney are not the hope...then there is no hope!

    • The Truth

Jerry: Are you brainwashed or you don't know how to read? It is made very clear by Jeep that manufacturing in China is just to support production of jeep to be sold in China and has nothing to do with US manufacturing.
It is RRs blatant lies and tough economic times that is making people gulliable and Romney is taking ful advantage of state of economy by constant lies, including: moving manufacturing to China, making china currency manupulator, saying first he will get tough on Iran and then agreeing with Obama on his policies. Supporting healthcare reform and then opposing it , I got plenty more but for you this should be enough.

Calling Romney a good person when he was given wealth from birth and made it bigger by putting people out of work is a bit of a stretch. Look, the Republican Party has become the party for the rich, not for the people. Party alignment is the worst thing for this country in all honesty. Most Republicans don't even like Romney, but since he's "not Obama" and "the running Republican," they decide to vote for him. How stupid can you be? Same with Democrats. Many are voting Obama because "he's the Democratic candidate." Why do we let everyone else do the decision making for us? In a world where Fox News only supports the far right and MSNBC only goes for the far left, why do we trust most cable news sources? I check out CNN mostly for world news and to see what the general public are saying about politics. Very rarely do I take any of the news sites' (CNN, Fox News, MSNBC) political news to heart, because it all has it's own twist. As an independent, I will be voting for President Obama because his ethics are what I believe Americans should go by more than Romney's. Mitt's even a member of a church that proclaims dark skin is a punishment from God. He was raised with riches and never really had to earn his money. President Obama crawled to where he is today in a vision of what should be the American Dream. From broken home to the White House. All while believing politicians shouldn't be taking money hand over fist from special interest groups while running for political office (he has a huge grassroots campaign). Mitt Romney declares his life to the almighty dollar as I see it, and President Obama has more of a vision for America as a whole. And I haven't even gotten to the part where Romney is terrible at talking to anyone from outside of the USA. He insulted Britain, for crying out loud. BRITAIN. The people who usually just go along with 90 percent of the things we ask them to. Think about that...

you are correct it is about dollars...and yes, business has to be profitable...they have to compete. But, Dopy, America can I said. If we can't then people like you are in trouble beyond your just need to learn to think for yourself... you see, little person, jobs come from business and productivity is your only hope. And, obama has done NOTHING to promote real jobs, quite the opposite, my foolish little friend.

Obama's failed 'Green' companies, like Solydera, squandered hundreds of millions of OUR tax dollars ... and, they purchased most of their solar panels from CHINA !!! ... This is what happens, when a two bit community organizer, with zero business experience, is mistakenly elected to the office of the President. Your blind devotion to 'Dear Leader' ... your Fuhrer, is touching ... but it's time for you to leave the Obama cult. Obama was given a chance ... and, in the past 4 years, he has nearly destroyed America. NOW, it's time for Barack and Michelle to abdicate their throne, so Mitt Romney can begin repairing the excessive damage caused by Obama's terrible policies. Good bye Barack, Michelle, Nancy, Harry, Jarret, and Axelrod, and all the unelected czars ... and, GOOD RIDDANCE TO YOU ALL ... I'm sure you all will find another way to pick the pockets of hard working Americans !!!

you're comprehension and grasp of simple matters is in need of some medical maintenance it seems. You give too much credit to a President for the affairs of simple business matters. Romney is an outsourcer and will continue on the side of Banks ad Corporations free fall...good luck with that. You cannot see the forest for the trees because you are amid the destructors yourself.

Basically, you are saying ROmney will fail if he is elected. He has succeeded at everything he has done. You can make up anything you want. You can tell us stories about how you feel we do not understand (as libs usually do when people disagree w/them).
Here is your problem – Obama is the worse president this country has ever seen. Your lib lies about Romney make you look like an idiot, as they have with Obama (once everyone saw Romney in the first debate). You can choose to fail, as libs usually do. Or, you can vote ROmney and help this country move in the correct direction.

        Quoted from Urban Legends:
"The Attorney Registration & Disciplinary Commission ( lists President Obama's registration status as "voluntarily retired." It lists Michelle Obama's status as "voluntarily inactive."

It is not true that either of them surrendered their law license to avoid disciplinary action or criminal prosecution, however. Nor is it true, contrary to what has been claimed on literally thousands of anti-Obama blogs and websites, that the Obamas were "disbarred" or had their law licenses "revoked."

Neither the Illinois State Bar Association nor the ARDC lists any accusations of misconduct or disciplinary actions against the Obamas. According to a statement quoted by, ARDC deputy administrator and chief counsel James Grogan says the Obamas were "never the subject of any public disciplinary proceedings."

Quite to the contrary, a notice on the website of the Illinois State Bar states that the Association is "proud" to have Barack and Michelle Obama as honorary members."

This is the exact wording that goes out to new lawyers who have passed the Illiniois bar exam and receive their license to practice.
"Welcome to the Bar New Admittees
Congratulations on your admission to the practice of law!
You are now part of the Illinois bar, which has a long and proud history of distinguished members, including Abraham Lincoln, Clarence Darrow, Myra Bradwell, Barack and Michelle Obama, Jim Thompson, David Davis, Edgar Lee Masters, Mary Ann McMorrow, and John Paul Stevens, to name just a few."

None of that is true. Your party and philosphy are reality challenged. Here is what is true, since the Bush era tax cuts there has not been sufficient revenue to operate govenment. Today we spend three dollars for over 2 dolars in revenue. The average federal income tax burdeen is lower than it has been since the 1950s. Most of the growth in federal employees is for homeland security and defense. Other agencies have not grown in proportion to the population, or in the case of the Agriculture Department have lost employees. Approximately 1/3 of the national debt is from trust fund revenues;by law all those revenues are converted to debt. So the only way to stop accumulating debt is to stop flying, pumping gas, and paying social security. All these facts are available from readily accessable federal web sites. I suggest that you use them rather than making up non-facts to scare voters.

That so typical for some republicans these days. When all else fails, just make shi... up! a five point plan? (Ha!),massive layoffs after the election, Jeep moving to Italy. So I guess if President Obama didn't bail GM out and they folded, that would be his fault too. Most of you republicans would vote for the devil himself just to get Obama out of office. Most of the reasons to vote for Romney makes no sense. He doesn't give a damn about half of the country and the other half is dumb enough to believe he cares about them. If he wins we're all in trouble.

Fellow Americans... It is sad that anyone would EVER vote for a republican. The republicans are literally internal terrorists that hurt America with their own greedy agenda. OBAMA / BIDEN 2012!

How are you guys so, so STUPID that you keep your head in the bush and dont even acknowledge the facts. Here we are wondering what the hell are you supporting those who rob you and your country blind, lie to you at your face and feed you with shit. And you all think that Romney would not continue Bush politics....yeah, right. Serves you right to get him as president. We europeans give you one year and your country will be down in the dumps, recession twice as bad as now and unemployment higher than ever, all jobs taken out by Romneys friends companies and at the same time you may enjoy watching on tv how his friends show off their money and posessions – which by the way are hell offshore hidden from taxman and government. And ofcourse to ensure that when the time comes to dump USA they have something to rely on. You guys are sick, really sick and stupid. Wish you Romney people good luck and start learning how to farm land as you all need it or you will starve. And dont look into europe to come to rescue as we will also be in deep shit all because of your stupidity and greediness. Greetings from europe!

Which Poll Reggie19? CNN's say's 50-49 which is virtually a tie. But here's the thing with polling; there are Left leaning and Right leaning Polls. For example, CNN, FOX, Rasmussen, Gallup are traditionally Right leaning while PPP, NBC, Grove are Left leaning. So, it would seem logical, to therefore average them out, right. Well, there's a website that does just that for every poll you could imagine, The editors are left leaning but NUMBERS are not, no matter how you spin it. That said, when you average the Obama has a slim 0.9% lead. This is the one true Toss Up state. Just FYI y'all!

Message to all Democrats….are you tired of being misrepresented by an administration that is willing to sacrifice national soveriegnty and personal liberties in favor of radical special interests? Are you tired of the Department of Justice attacking state law enforcement officials (Joe Arpaio) and giving automatic weapons to drug cartels (Fast and Furious)? Are you tired of hearing the former Speaker of the House (Nancy Pelosi) say stupid things like “we have to approve the bill (Obamacare) before we see what is really in it”? Are you tire of your president bowing before foreign kings and apologizing for America’s behavior since we freed Europe from Nazi Germany? Are you tired of your president going golfing instead of fixing the economy, going on “The View” instead of meeting with our close allly Benjamin Netanyahu, and going to campaign fund raisers instead of dealing with the murder of 4 Americans at the Libyan embassy? Is this really the party you want to be associated with? If not, do what Ronald Reagan did when the Democratic Party abandoned his beliefs and values in the 60′s. IF you don't like where Obama as taken this country in the last four years, you sure as heck won't like where he will take it in the next four years if he gets re-elected.

Doesn't matter, the Republicans will steal Florida anyway just as they've been for years. Republicans don't want democracy, that's why they've been suppressing voting all over the country. What they really want is an oligrachy with the rich and their servants. Amazing that ignorant evangelicals want to cast their vote for an elder of a religionwhere you can have multiple wives; can become a God upon death; and can wear 'magical underwear'. Come on all you good Christians, vote for an anti-Christ, at least he ain't black!

Reading a lot of these text I am starting to believe that the election for president should be left only to the electoral college. In politics and government there is so much that goes on behind close doors we never get to know. The popularity contests at some point needs to stop. Let's be honest, we have to decide which of the two evils we like the best. Listen both are lying about the budget. Mitt has changed his whole platform with a smile. I like most Americans am in the dark and expect a few lies (that's sad) during election time. I just think some times we stand up for the wrong bs most of the time and lay down for the things that really matter. I believe before you vote, you should really think about what you have heard if you have been on top of this from the very start. Some one is pulling the wool over your eyes and if you choose to elect Mitt, you will be in for a rude awakening. If he is willing to change his whole platform...think what he is going to do when he's in office.

The economy has many factors from war, to govt aid, to companies holding funds in the bank instead of hiring and much much more. To blame one man is just silly. This happened as a country and to be honest the previous president should be in prison for war crimes even though I voted for him and liked his style. I am an independent and I am voting all democrat for the first time ever and maybe this country can get something done.

I am not American but have been watching your elections very closely. We all get caught up in rhetoric. However, it seems like the republicans (not saying everyone) seems so right wing. The key principle of democracy is separation of church and state. Looking from the outside in, it seems the rightwing party (republicans) almost seem like the Taliban (abortion etc).. I thought the western world wanted to spread democracy around the world so why the religious rhetoric? To me Romney seems so unethical and dishonest. I have a number of friends who are Republicans and 6 out of 8 are voting for Obama. Their statement was that once you get out of the country(U.S) we are able to make the right decision because we can finally can get away from all the rhetoric/brainwash and make logicanl informed decisions. Before you vote ask yourself the question am I voting with my ego, prejudices, hate or am I voting using logica and good reasoning.

Social Security, Universal Health Care, Foreign Policy, Women’s Rights, Equal Pay, Medicaid / Medicare, Student Loans, Food Stamp program, Low Income Housing, Modest Tax breaks for the middle class, Environment / EPA, Unemployment funding, American Recovery Act, Dream Act, and more.

I cannot imagine the worldwide horror if Ryan ever got his finger on the nuclear trigger of the United States missile arsenal.

Dan, that's just a right-wing lie that illegals vote-they can't vote because they aren't citizens. You are supposed to have ID when you register. Then, you are placed on a computerized list on election day where the election judges check your name off as you sign in. I'm surprised that no one seems to remember this from the last time you went to the polls.

The whole thing is a BS scare tactic by the right to try to keep uninformed people from going to the polls. Greater turnout favors the Democrats and the GOP does it's best to supress it. Oh, and the only people caught committing voter fraud so far this election was a company (Strategic Allied Consulting) the GOP hired, which decided to falsify hundreds of voter registration forms in Florida.

Those who vote for Romney are soooo messed up. Many..I mean Many of you vote against your own best interest. When you do that it comes down to being just ignorant and racist. Romney is a liar. He is trying to agree with Obama so he can get back his Republican voters who voted for Obama. Once he gets in office, he will go back to the beliefs he originally spoke about in the beginning of his Campaign. This country will go down, a quick death which then will make the country vulnerable to other countries. Obama has made considerable improvements in the country. From the First election he always said it is going to take 8 years to get the country back on its feet. But because we want instant gratification, we don't look at the long term goal. Patience people..Patience.....

"Not any chance that this Duo will get elected even to be dog catchers?"

You do not read very much. Paul Ryan has been re-elected 7 times as US Representative. Gov. Romney is, well former Governor.

As far as money in foreign countries. Any one that owns stock, almost certainly has their money in a foreign country. Take Coke for example. Most of their operations are over seas, Also Wal-Mart, Caterpillar, and now GM. It is a world economy and Gov. Romney understands this. The fact that you leave out is that Gov. Romney pays Federal Income tax on all so called foreign income.

You Liberals love to spin the truth.

    October 30, 2012 at 11:14 am |
    • swingstater

"Gov. Romney is, well former Governor." Oh, yeah, the ONE TERM governor who couldn't run for a second because the voters of Massachusetts hated him so much. And they haven't forgotten; they are now going for Obama by double digits.

"As far as money in foreign countries. Any one that owns stock, almost certainly has their money in a foreign country."

And you REALLY believe that Romney has offshore accounts in Switzerland and the Caymans because of that? Please. A Swiss bank account as a tax-dodge is such an cliche, I grew up hearing that. Now the Caymans are competing for the Swiss business.

"Gov. Romney pays Federal Income tax on all so called foreign income."

I guess we'd come closer to believing that if he released his tax returns, because right now, he doesn't, with no explanations.

News networks (CNN, MSNBC) but mostly Fox News are fear mongerers. They tell you that the world is going to end if Ohio or Florida ends tied. Obviously they didn't pay attention in school. With the number of "swing" states, there are 362,880 possible combinations that might happen on election night but only 512 make a difference to reaching the 270 electoral votes. With the lead that Obama has, he wins in 431 of those combinations, looses in 76 and ties in 5.

Nevertheless, polls are one thing, and votes are another, and there are more registered Dems and Repubs.

Quite frankly, I don't understand how people with a brain can think that Romney can do better with the economy, considering that he has promised what economist say will happen anyway. Economist say that 12 million jobs will be created within the next 4 years. So does Romney.

    That proves two things:

Social Security, Universal Health Care, Foreign Policy, Women’s Rights, Equal Pay, Medicaid / Medicare, Student Loans, Food Stamp program, Low Income Housing, Modest Tax breaks for the middle class, Environment / EPA, Unemployment funding, American Recovery Act, Dream Act, and more.

I cannot imagine the worldwide horror if Ryan ever got his finger on the nuclear trigger of the United States missile arsenal.

For Ryan, it would be a blessing – as it has been foretold that snakes will inherit the earth. I just never imagined it would come from Wisconsin and be so soon.

Veteran...put the idiot pipe down and listen. If you can still comprehend Romney has been very clear about his 5 point plan...go to his web site. Now listen/look hard (if you can) it is obama who has nothing to offer with the exception of MORE TEACHERS and RAISING taxes...neither of which create JOBS! And we need jobs.

Romney at Bain Capital, when Bain was strictly a Venture Capital firm (for you, this means they invested in NEW businesses) created more than 8,500 jobs at Staples...this is just one success. And, your lying manipulating King-obama decryed Bain... If you can read please google Bain for the real will find even when they moved into acquisitions (buying mature struggeling firms) they NEVER used hostile take over tactics...were really intended to save these companies when they could. The much spoke about Steel Company closure many of you goof balls cite was a business struck by the unions and closed 4 years later when they had a $44,000,000.00 pension it was the unions who stripped the company...even though Bain offered jobs in other plants to these please learn to read. Romney knew what he was talking about when he NAILED obama on the GM mess...and yes they should have bankrupted and dumped those pensions and other liabilities...this company (GM) is failing and all will be lost eventually, thanks to obama using taxpayer monies for political gain.

Let me get this straight. Teachers don't have jobs. Then they must be part of that 47% of tax dodging, whining, looters that Romney doesn't have to care about. I use to have a lot of respect for members of the teaching profession, thanks for setting me straight. I would be curious to hear what teachers have to say, but then again they are such whiners.

Hope and Change was a sales pitch as well.... all we have left is HOPE and there is very little change. The economy is anemic, corporations are unwilling to hire because the uncertanty, Several large resturant chains have announced that they will move the majority of their staff to part time so that they do not have to provide health benefits but rather their employees will have to move to the exchanges... some companies have even firgured out that paying the fine is cheaper than providing health care,,, So ... how is all this working???? Here is something Floridians shoud be very concerned about given the amount of natural disaster that hit Florida. Romney has no clue. He has no core, he has no sense of how we are all in this American Experience together and in America we always help those in need.

On the campaign trail Romney said

"every time you have an occasion to take something including disaster relief from the federal government and send it back to the states, that's the right direction. And if you can go even further and send it back to the private sector, that's even better."

Are you kidding me. He wants to put the private sector in charge of disaster relief. This man has no moral compass.
He also said in response to federal aid regarding the deadly Joplin, Missouri, tornado, Romney said

"We cannot afford to do those things without jeopardizing the future for our kids. It is simply immoral, in my view, for us to continue to rack up larger and larger debts and pass them on to our kids, knowing full well that we'll all be dead and gone before it's paid off. It makes no sense at all."

I guess Romney thinks that worrying about the future of our kids is more important than saving the lives of those same kids when a natural disaster strikes. As you can see, this man will put money ahead of anything. ANYTHING! Even helping those suffering and dying from natural disasters. Is this the kind of heartless President we deserve? I think not

At a recent campaign event in Ohio, Romney ignored questions by reporters on whether he supported the Federal Emergency Management Agency's role in disaster relief. I guess he doesn’t thing the average Americans deserve the help of the federal government but rich folks like him does.

Even guys like the outspoken Republican governor of New Jersey knows that the State or the Private Sector cannot provide the help that will be needed in an natural disaster and that is why Christie declared a state of emergency and seek federal help for widespread devastation. Cristie even said in an Interview Tuesday on NBC, Christie described Obama's response as "outstanding," and he told CNN that the president had been "incredibly supportive and helpful to our state."

The choice is clear. Do we want to go back to the exact same policies (Romney/Ryan current policies) that brought America (this great Nation) to its knees or do we want to continue to build on the recovery.

    October 30, 2012 at 6:11 pm |
    • Not the president but played one on TV

I approve this Message....NOT! What skills did Obama bring to the table as a candidate? Yet for some reason, a former Governor is not qualified? Hillary said said it would be "On the Job Training for Obama. Believe her now?

Wow you really have no clue at all. Letting States decide where the funding is needed most and letting private sector help out is the smart way to go.

      October 31, 2012 at 1:49 pm |
    • Hmmm....

But we can not continue to allow building in areas that we know are prone to flooding and storm damage from Hurricanes. These folks want to live there – get flood insurance. Deductable on Hurricane coverage is $15,000 because of the people who have repeated claims. Why should our debt go to.

So how is it that a bloated federal government can do a better job? When you pay the outrageous prices that the government pays for material ... and salary... and healthcare .... how can they do a better job?

      October 31, 2012 at 11:21 pm |
    • dmatt

You are absolutely correct. I may not like Chris Christie, but his praise for President Obama during this disaster that has affected my life..(.I live in the areas affected by Hurricane Sandy) has been welcomed. Politics has been put aside to try to assist people. This will not happen without FEMA. Under Mr. Romney FEMA will not exist and disasters like this will undermine our great nation. Maybe that is what Mr. Romney wants. I for one do not want Mitt Romney in charge as he has no plan. He says he will get us back to work with 12 million new jobs, but he has yet to say how he will do that. He will eliminate government assistance programs by getting people good jobs. What does Mr. Romney consider a good job, especially when companies are hiring people part time in order not to pay health care etc. We can not afford to have Mittt Romney as president.

Progressives are in denial. It is a psychological disorder called jumping on the band wagon. The Obama campaign is using it and the national media to influence voters. They believe that by skewing the polls they can get people to feel that Obama's victory is inevitable so they over sample progressives in order to give Obama bigger numbers than he truly has. Ask yourself why would the majority of people vote for a president that is worse than Jimmy Carter? Here are the real numbers and you can all quote me on election night. I have the true numbers here.
    VA – Romney 50.8 Obama 44.8
    CO – Romney 48.4 Obama 47.2
    FL – Romney 50.1 Obama 45.9
    IA – Romney 50 Obama 46.8
    MI – Romney 47.7 Obama 48.7
    NH – Romney 49 Obama 47
    NV – Romney 52 Obama 46.4
    NC – Romney 50.5 Obama 46.5
    OH – Romney 48.5 Obama 45.7
    PA – Romney 46.3 Obama 48.3
    WI – Romney 49.5 Obama 46.5
Pay attention...Obama only wins two of those states Romney takes the rest. Final numbers are Romney 301 to Obama 237. Romney will also take 54% of the popular vote. Sorry progressives better luck next time.

The people here supporting get what you deserve. In order for Mitt's tax structure (handout to the rich) to work, he plans to reclassify anybody under 250k as middle class, and they will see at least a $4k increase in taxes. While the wealthiest Americans get bush tax cuts and an additional 20% which means they won't contribute much of anything. On top of that, he plans to fund this by forcing Medicare, healthcare, and disaster relief down to the states...this means your local taxes will skyrocket also, since most states are bankrupt as it is. Mitt Romney will be the end of the US. We did this under Bush, it collapsed...Mitt wants to use the same failed foundation for something much more extreme. If America elects him, it deserves it's fate.

Any black person who says they're voting for Romney will be labeled as "bowing to the white man". 96% of blacks voted for Obama the first time around – I'm betting it will be 99% this time. i am not surprised that the polls are tightening or going for Romney. After four years of the worse presidency in modern history people are tired of OBama. Some facts, Obama forced Obama Care down our throats, which the majority still hate. The deficet is 16 trillion and climbing, credit Rating going down, millions out of work. On top of that Obama has oversaw the biggest tax increase on people then this country has seen in the form of Obama Care. Fast and Furious, Emabssy in Libya, three dead their which the deaths can be layed directly at Obama door. Refuses to let compaines drill, hates the military, takes money from China and bows to them. Ships jobs over seas. Anti Small businnes. Obama has one mission to destroy this country and pattern it after the socialist countries of Europe. Where the Goverment provdes everything.

Everyone agrees the worst presidency in modern history was Bush Jr., hands down.

Obamacare benefits you. You can't be turned down for pre-existing conditions and the insurance companies can't cancel your coverage when you get sick. The insurance companies have to spend, at least, 80% of their premiums on YOU, not making obscene profits. What about that do you not like?

The deficit is 16 trillion-the majority of that, $10 trillion was run up under Bush.

Standard and Poors stated that the reason for lowering the US credit rating was the GOP that was causing political gridlock because, among the legislation they wouldn't pass, was the budget.

The "Fast and Furious" was the latest installment of a larger program called "Gun Walker" also started under Bush in 2005.

Here's what you need to know about Libya. Gadaffi, Libya's former dictator who sponsored terrorism, including the Lockerbie bombing, is gone. You can thank the Obama administration for something the West has wanted for decades.

Obama doesn't want drilling in areas that would poison the groundwater for people.

"Takes money from China" and "ships jobs over seas?" You have him confused with Romney there.

Romney has outsourced so many American jobs to China already.  Ask the workers at Sensata Technologies (formerly of Freeport, IL) how much Romney cares about that issue.

Sensata is currently being outsourced by Bain Capital and Romney is profiting from his investments in that.  So, while Mitt is pretending that he cares about outsourcing, he is actually making money from American workers' misery.

And guess how much YOU are paying?  It has cost over $700,000 for the Department of Labor to retrain those displaced workers.  Then, there's also the social services the unemployed need. So, I hope you like Mitt so much that you are willing to pony up your taxpayer dollars to support his kids' college fund, because that's what you are doing now.

I was shocked to hear Mitt say at Florida interview that he believed that people who couldn’t make their mortgage payments should be foreclosed on and purchased by investors at foreclosure prices obviously, because he says that’s the way it works in his world. if Romney wins the presidential election, american middle class will become poorer and poors will become even poorer because of rise of unemployment and loss of small businesses because of big corporations getting bigger without paying required taxes. small businesses are related to infrastructure, medicare / medicaid / home care / patient transportation/ old age homes / housing under housing authority / hud/ clinics / availability of education for youths and adults at cheaper fees, low interest or interest free loans becoming self employed and ambition of young people. opportunities to become owners of small businesses are important to take the country forward. Obama's agenda and issues help this country to move forward in the present century to stay competitive in the world. Romney's plan can only help large corporations, which creates limited employment, where as Obam's plan can create employment by many fold via education and self employment and employment as well. Obama care consists of infrastructure, space program, growth of large corporations, education for all, building public confidence, development of small businesses, health care and independence of women, minorities and senior citizens. under george bush, unemployment went up and our economy went down. Romney = George Bush will bring the same fate. Obama strengthened our economy to some extent. if obama is elected for anther 4 year term, lot of improvement in every field will occur and not just a few american will be rich, many in terms of millions will become rich and prosperous and true democracy will come and u.s would be able to lead the world truly with her economic prosperity and increasing military strength. With Romney, U.S will loose all fronts as indicated by George Bush's regime. President Clinton recovered U.S, President Kennedy recovered U.S, so is with Obama. Republican victory will bring american downfall now because republican are power hungry, whereas democratic party is thru servant of the people.

I can tell you part of the reason Romney is doing better in Florida. Some of his PACs bought incredible amounts of air time to run his BS political ads. Unfortunately, this was also Rick Scott's method to getting elected.

You just want to shake the people of Florida and say, it's as much bull as Rick Scott's promise for 700,000 jobs (which he, of course, he hasn't delivered on) but, I guess they have short memories.

Anyone who votes for Mitt Romney is an idiot. And these fools on this site that keeps asking folks to go to his website and look at his plan is clueless. The facts are Mitt Romney is giving 5 trillion in tax cuts, mainly to the very wealthy and is adding another 2 trillion in military spending and has shown no plan to balance the tax cuts and additional spending. He says he'll close loop holes to make up the difference, but has not provided not 1 specific loop hole that he'd close. He says he'll work with (the Republican controlled) congress to close these loop holes after the election...;-)

Yeah, great plan Joe Isuzu. Most economist know this plan will not work and that it will add to the deficit. For Mitt plan to come close to working he'd have to eliminate loop holes for the wealthy (himself and friends...yeah right) and eliminate important deductions for the middle class and that still will not be enough without increasing taxes. The only taxes that will be increased will be on the middle class. We know Mitt thinks its ok for rich folks like him to pay 14% while middle class folks pay over 35% in taxes. This is from his own lips. Only a fool will believe this clown.

OMG!! I just saw on the news that Joe Isuzu is making a come back and is playing Mitt Romney! LOL!! I've been calling Mitt Romney Joe Isuzu for some time now and it appears I'm not the only one to see Mitt for what he is....a lying used car salesman that will say anything to convince you that the lie his spitting is actually the truth!! Wow...

    @Dan B

We all know Bush causesd the recession.
We all know that President Obama's plan help resuscitate to the economy, which preventing a depression.
We all know a Republican Congress is trying to obstruct any plans the President have to help the economy.
We all know the Replican Congress is more interested in defeating Pres. Obama than helping Americans & economy
We all know the Republican's obstruction plan is to keep the economy moving slowly and to blame it on the President We all know this plan is their only hope of getting back into the White House....pure politics in the worst of times...pathetic.

When the President is re-elected the Republicans will be up the creek without a paddle...that's why they are so desperate and blantantly lying about GM and Chrysler plans to ship jobs from Ohio to China.

Mitt is NOT the President yet – he cannot set anything in stone until he addresses Congress and has the opportunity to work – OMG, you just don't seem to see the logic, and probably oh too late as I'm sure you already voted. Again, would you want a plumber to cut your hair – I know I wouldn't, so we put in someone in office who meets the criteria of what the U.S. is needing – we need a Business Man!!! He won't show tax returns – who cares? Obama won't show his birth certificate or other info. Obama borrowed money from China for heavens sake – how is that any differnet then sending jobs to China? CAN'T YOU SEE? Businessman vs. President – Mitt was a businessman at the time, and after 4 years, Obama has got us in deeper. People are jobless and homeless, and yet gas & groceries are still going up. The company that he started and used the borrowed money for, went belly up – are you blind?

Florida voters have a lot at stake. If FEMA is underfunded or dismantled, it will be a disaster for the state's residents that have to deal with so many weather related crises. That's where Romney will take things. The man has a hatchet and he’ll use it without consideration to important issues to people in the state including Medicare and Social Security.

I don't care if Romney flip-flops or not as long as it is for the good of the majority. I think this 'flip-flop' agenda is little too overrated. I am not sure why I would vote for Obama again even though I feel like I have to. The president should be telling people what he can do and how it will work based upon his 4 years in the office rather than attacking his opponent about his potential weaknesses. It is not 2008 when he could go on with attacking others. It should be about his vision and why we should believe in him again. As far as I can tell, I am one frustrated voter. I am sure there are millions amongst us who will fall in the same boat.

It does not matter to me what Obama or Romney say at this point ... The person I am going to support will support a company like Ford... not GM or Chrysler. I don'tknow if you realize this or not Dillon... but that has been my point all along. We need a leader and not a community organized in the white house. I have stated many times in many threads that it used to be our differences that made us strong. The ability to take the best of both sides and create something you can live with... This does not happen in todays world. I simply can't respect a president that claims that a police department acted stupidly... Why did it have to get that high??? Why did he feel the need to stick his nose in it at all? What message did he send when he made that statement? Believe me when I say that I believe he is a loving husband and father... but his policies are not the kind that we as Americans need,,,,

      • dillonb1950

No person as President is EVER going to get it all right. Every President has his spin doctors to listen to and they tell him where and how to respond...basically that is true. The Preident ALWAYS has information you and I don't have so I dont ridcule or micro manage my thoughts on what I (the almighty one) should think he should do in every bloody situation. How egotistical can people get to even think that way. For me "balance" is the key and I listen very careful to their "big picture" platforms and Mr. Romney just doesn't seem to have a balanced picture. He does what is popular NOT what is right. Obama and the people who hate him do so because someone has to have the balls to do what is right and not what is popular. Obamacare is not popular but it is right. Everyone paying equal taxes is not popular but it is right. Balanacing out the bigger picture and not doing whats the popular thing for the "smaller" picture is n't very popular but to hear Romney he is going to cure ALL the ills of the economy with playing hide the salami is a game an old hand like me who has lived through 12 Presidents can see through quite readily. Obama is clearly more balanced and can be clearly seen as being more transparent than Mitt. Romney was far right and has within the last 2 months swung moderate middle....that's the mark of a shister...Ive seen it happen too many times....and Romney is by far the worst of the iwo evils..mark my words.

How sad Dillon, equal taxes??? So should the rich be taxed at 50%, 60%, more??? while others are taxed less or not at all? Is that truly equal? are you interested in equall opportunity or equal outcome? What is popular right now is re-distribution of wealh that is accomplished at the federal government level. Affordable healthcare, what is the true root of this initiative?? Here on CNN in the belief section the question of Obama being the right kind of christian was asked, Some of the analysis seemed to suggest that his Social Gospel prespective was the basis of the desire to provide heath care at a national level... Is he then, if this is true, enforcing his religous prespective using the IRS as the enforcement agency? The Commander and Chief of he USA stating to the public that a police department acted stupidly is that the kind of balance you desire? Is that the role model you want for our children? I thought there may be some common ground with you but it appears that was just a pipe dream... You have now shown your true colors and it is so sad. I was attempting to reach a common ground with you.

EQUAL % OF TAXATION!!!! How can you not understand given what YOU have written yourself? ok here it is Einstein....if i make 50,000 a year at x% tax rate you should pay the same x% tax rate if you make any amount equal to or more than me...duh!!!!!

      • Bill in STL

Just want to be sure here... you ar a proponent of a flat tax then? You certainly can't have that wish with the tiered tax guidlines we currently have in effect. SO say 10% no exceptions, would that be reasonable??? I know what I am saying but I am not sure you do.

Now keep calm and don't start the name calling again...

Lets take Warren Buffet as an example... His salary is roughly 450k anually so he should be in the top tier.. and paying 33% (Appx). of that 450k. His investment income however is in the millions...and he pays 15% on that... Even if you took his entire salary in taxes the rate he pays on intrest income still brings his tax rate down lower than thetop tier...

So if his intrest income is 100mil (way low I know) then his taxes on that are 15mill and if you take all of his salary that makes 15.5mil in taxes on 100415.00 dollars so do the math .... that is less than 20% or less than you would pay in taxes.... this is not rocket surgery. your president is now doing this as well... he has his investment income and his salary... The clintons do it.... so you for the people people are really every bit as bad as the people you do not like ,,, mainly conservatives...

Now declare yourself ... Flat tax??? or not

        Equal opportunity??? or Equal Outcome???

        Your choice Dillion

The whole tiered system from A-Z NEEDS to be revamped. It is too complex to discuss on a posting site but for your information these are some things needed to be taken into account. I know your not a businessman so I hope this will give you a basic idea.
The U.S. international tax system is at a crossroads.
Various voices have been calling for a comprehensive review and modernization of the U.S. international tax rules. Most recently, the Obama administration has advanced specific proposals for major changes in the international tax area.
The current U.S. international tax system, the administration's international tax proposals, and other potential reforms all have ramifications for U.S. businesses, American workers, and the U.S. economy.
What form any changes should take, how extensive they should be, and what these changes should aim to accomplish remain a subject of vigorous debate.
The question of what is the most advantageous international tax system for the United States in today's globally integrated economy demands diligent analysis and a comprehensive and thoughtful discussion.
It is essential that policymakers take a broad view and consider the entire business tax system, including the corporate tax rate, as part of that discussion.
Policy changes in this area should not be developed in a vacuum. U.S. policymakers should consider what other governments are doing and what effect their tax policies have on the global business environment.
There will be differing views on which path to take at this crossroads. However, everyone should agree that U.S. businesses and jobs depend on the outcome. Everyone also should agree that making a decision without considering the underlying facts and broader perspectives and without fairly weighing benefits and risks would be imprudent.
As policymakers approach the challenge of crafting an advantageous international tax system for the United States, their focus should be on what is best for the U.S. economy and for the American people. This is why it is difficult to discuss with you in simplitic and generic terms on a post such as this. Get it?

This conversation can't go any further until you answer the questions I have asked. You can't hide what you believe in with clever cut and paste answers. I won't deal with someone that will not clearly state an answer. This is why this country is in this condition. No one is willing to declare what/who the are and what they believe in.... This is a fine bunch of platitudes you have cut and pasted in here but they mean nothing and you have an exit if you feel trapped. I have owned a business... both agricultural and a "real" busines I chose the paths they went are they are still successfull... I don't own one of them any more having sold it and the other is part of my retirement plan. Juding from what you have stated here you have absolutely no idea what you are talking about and you seem to be googling for an answer... So if and when you can define your position we can talk again.... BTW I am for equl oportunity and fal tax. You have no idea what needs to be changed in the tax system... you know it needs overhaul... but not why... and you don't know how to articulate your thoughts or even be honest for that matter... you are just parroting others at thiis point.

I I gave you an intelligent response of what I believe using a tool at my disposal. If I didnt understand I would've told you to FO and be done without answering you in any regard. There is no DIRECT SINGLE answer to your questions because it doesn't make sense as a stand alone question. There are too many complex tie-ins to say I believe in a flat tax etc etc. There is nothing wrong with cut and paste as a tool to better say what you can say. When YOU haven't considered the "wholistic" connectors and if I find someone who captures that better than I do but they say exactly what I know and mean then I will use it. You are entitled to do the same. The country is in this shape because simplisticly these types of questions come from people who believe it is a simple stand alone question and black and white question and answer and Mr. Romney was VERY CLEAR about that and that's partly why he lost. The Rebublican party more so than the Democratic doesn't understand the complexity and people read into that. This is a fine bunch of platitude because those are the issues connected to the questions you asked. I might say the same to you...if you feel trapped you can just accuse me and shut it down.Do YOU know why the tax system needs to be revamped at all levels? If you do then you should run for President seeing as you have the answer. It is wayyyyy too complex to say yes I know exactly why ....even the best econmists haven't figured that out yet...the Dems say they know...lets do it this way...the Reps say...we know ..lets do it this way...almost all economists are all is too complex..blah blah balh...what does that mean? That's the gist of my post. You ask the most complex question and expect an intelligent answer of a single point??? I read an article 2 weeks ago and remembered how right on track it was regarding taxes. Said better than I or you could ever articulate but VERY INTELLIGENT and right on the button to answer your question. Then you call me dishonest because you don't like my style....too bad....I stand by what I wrote and the reason why I used some of it. If you don't have any answers to my starting point fine...there are 20 pages more......all tied into the SIMPLE questions you asked and then demanded I give you a direct and a simple answer...can't happen...

I did answer you dillion, but untill CNN decides to clear it you will have to wait. This is a very good example of what you will have sometime in the near future. There was nothing wrong with the post and no name calling. just an honest evaluation of where I feel we are in the discussion.

Is any investigative reporting being done regarding a potential conflict of interest in that one of Governor Romney's sons owns the company who provides the balloting machines in Florida? Thanks

Why won't the Democrats get involved in FL? It is obvious that Gov Rick Scott is suppressing the vote in Democratic leaning areas. The lines are 3 to 4 hours long. This is not by accident. The ballot is 6 or 7 pages long. Put out info to Democrats to vote yes on Obama and Yes on Sen Bill Nelson. Go down the row and quickly vote NO on all ballot initiatives. FL is all Republican so all these initiatives are Republican originated and will not benefit a single Democrat in FL.

No one has ever won the Presidency without winning Ohio...EVER. Based on Obama's early voter lead and 5 point lead there I predict an Obama win.

Polling Averages Show Obama Near Victory....
the latest polling averages finds President Obama leading in Ohio, Wisconsin, Nevada, and Iowa while Mitt Romney leads in Virginia, North Carolina and Florida. The race is essentially tied in Colorado and New Hampshire.

"For the sake of argument, let's give the tied states to Romney. Here's the basic state of things: If you give Romney all the states where he is leading or tied in the averages - Florida, Virginia, North Carolina, Colorado, New Hampshire - he is still short of 270. Meanwhile, if you give Obama just the states where he leads in the averages, he wins reelection."

Not gonna cry, why would/Should I? you presume to much! and besides 2& of the popular vote is not a mandate. The American people have decided to see what will happen if they give him the time he asked for.... thats all... If he fails then open mic Joe wont have a prayer. What you don't seem to understand is that this country will go on. My dad used to say .... don't stand in front of a wagon that is rolling down hill... can you guess what he meant?

Congradulations to Mr Obama,Mr Bidden for their victory. Congradulations to Mr Clinton for his help ,.Congradulations to the Obama campaign Managers for an execellent job.The President win beacuse of his polcies not rheteric.
Obama embrace people ,the people embrace him back. As for Romney he ignore that .He did nothing to treach the African American and the Spanish Latino voters. For him to think the white voters was going to do it .What kind of memtality is that?He is a spiritual men very bizarre .another big stupid mistake was to play a fasely add to an audience that know that false . I hope the republican party learn a lesson .The African American were living in this country long before most of them the exist the Spanish exist too. The prayers of the African American did reach heaven GOD give the president enough grace to go through the fire ,the storm ,the bullies of the haters .It was not easy but it was worthed. I believe the Holy Spirit ,the Guardien Angels Obama Ancestors were watching for him protecting him there was Spirituals forces guiding the people who vote for him .The president situation was not hopeless god was on it. Congradulations to Chris Mathew from MSNBC for encouraging voters to go vote ,not to say no, not to be afraid and finally Congradulations to Reverend AL Sharper for his help, his courage and thankk you to the White voters that make a different in this election .God Bless all
