Springsteen, JAY Z to campaign with Obama on final day

(CNN) – President Obama is bringing a heavy dose of star power with him on his final day on the campaign trail.

The campaign announced Thursday that musician Bruce Springsteen will perform at all three of the president’s stops that day – Madison, Wisconsin; Columbus, Ohio; and Des Moines Iowa. In addition, rapper JAY Z will perform at the Columbus, Ohio stop.

First Lady Michelle Obama will also join the president at his last stop in Des Moines, according to the campaign.

Another photo opportunity...the continuing five year long campaign...and NO we don't need a jobs Secretary, for heavens sake you don't meet with your cabinet as it is...go back to chicago where you belong.

Since you have all the answers why dont you run for office? Obviously to you running for president is easy...never mind the millions of decisions to make, little to no sleep, criticisms from both sides, threats against your family, person, and intentions....

What if you were Obama? What brilliant ideas would you implement that would make 80% or more Americans satisfied? Until you go to law school, become any kind of high ranking state official, and come up with a 95-100% fool proof plan-stop complaining.

If you want to help this countries situation, then go volunteer! This is not a time to fight over who did what. It is a time to help fellow man whether we agree with or like them as a person. It is time for peace in this country. Getting all the answers to Benghazi does not help those lives in danger now. Unless you want to travel to Benghazi amongst the war and explosions "to do a report for yourself," then stop acting like you never make a mistake! No one is perfect. I can assume that most of us would not want people looking over every mistake we ever made. So, unless you are comfortable with millions of people criticizing you, then stop laying on the judgment because you are no Judge!

In 2008, it was a noble decision to elect America's first black President ... unfortunately, the wrong black person was chosen for such an honor, and such a responsibility. Obama has squandered the historic opportunity, and betrayed all those who elected him ... with irresponsible spending ... failed policies ... division ... cronyism ... as well as lies and cover ups, in order to hold onto power. What a shame. To reelect Obama simply because he's America's first black President ... would surly be an act of racism. America is more important than Obama ... Obama is expendable and replaceable ... America is not. Save America ... replace Obama, and his corrupt administration on November 6th !!!

I have read, heard, and seen...all this gabbing is adding up to is racism. So I am brining in religion. Re-Legion of Mormomnism. In their book of Janus...b lie book are many stories of blasphemey and sacriledge taught to people, their children and grandchildren. Your Mitt Romney, a mormon, believe in these tower of bable stories. How in the world could you even conscious or unconscious tap a button for this pagan. Our great America isfounded on Christian values and belief and the fear of God. Fear of God you say, yes...but when you teach from a fake propjet named josepj smith that in the beginning everyone was WHITE and some was turned black be cause they seen Noal naked. How about lets go in and pray for Dead People. Segregation is rooted in the mormon church, in romney mind, and evidently in anyone who believes American can run only with one pathetic race. We fight wars and die together,...I dont see anyone praying for dead fallen soliders in the Mormon church...go ahead ask Mitt, I dare you people. Economy DONT BE RIDICULOUS. ITS CALL TAKE OVER! wHITE SUPREMACY!

Jerry, seriously? FEMA is on the ground, going door to door to see what people need help. It's getting those that have lost their homes into hotel rooms. It's in the air, flying power specialists from California to New Jersey to help get power restored. It's in the seas, getting tankers of oil into the area. It's working with state and local governments to get all the help possible to impacted residents. Thanks to the fast action of President Obama, FEMA is doing the same kind of job it did under President Clinton when my home was nearly destroyed thanks to an earthquake. And it's doing a he.ll of a lot better job than under President Bush, or under a potential future GOP President who doesn't believe in a strong central government.

      November 4, 2012 at 11:15 am |

Well Jerry, FEMA is there and was there before Sandy hit the shores. FEMA had computer-engineered models for what could happen when the waves came over, and that's how people knew to call for evacuation orders. FEMA is currently assisting with housing victims and organizing repairs. Maybe you haven't seen the pictures, but a city devastated by a storm takes longer than a week to repair, in fact it will take years. This is similar to a country recovering from an economic disaster brought on by failed trickle down policies, which economists have said takes about a decade. Obama delegated the authority to the appropriate people, and is now campaigning to make sure the same failed policies that destroyed our economy don't happen again. Does that help?

Well, your other option is Mitt Romney, who is George Bush's pal. You can choose Obama or perhaps Romney, who works with 70% of people that stood by George Bush through the good, bad, and the ugly-mostly the bad and ugly. Choose Romney and you choose Bush all over again!

In fact, I bet the Taliban is laughing at us because Bush's administration ruined our own economy by overspending in order to bomb them...do not allow your ego to get too high with this Benghazi issue or this will turn into the same pride that kept us in war for 8 or more years. Focus on education, Hurr Sandy victims, and other important issues. Stop beating up the president knowing that you are ill equipped to give any advice to change the situation. Why do people say how easy a political situation is when they barely can recite a list of 25 U.S. presidents with accuracy-without looking it up? Lets stop playing like we all could run the White House ourselves because a lesser person (president) might have committed suicide under all the pressure.

Will a politician of real character please stand up! Will U.S. citizens who can respect the president please stand up! Will people who are tired of one-sidedness from Congress please stand up! Will Americans who are more concerned about the lives in jeopardy in Hurr Sandy please stand up! Will people who are willing to help others and not kick ppl when they are down please stand up! Lets stand together. If you cant stand with us in the bad times, then I guess it pointless to act all cheery during the good times in this country. Unity is about being strong through the good and bad! Stop spreading cowardice, spread courage and resilience. VOTE!

I soooo agree. Hollywood needs to stay out of the Obama Circuit. Hey here's an idea, how about raising the money to help all the people in our Country that have no jobs, no money, no food, and no homes due to bad management from our President Obama. Hollywood is very Liberal and doesn't live in the real world as we do. Mr President, you must be very worried about this election to have Hollywood and Clinton out on the road for you!! I'm sorry to say I voted for you 4 yrs ago. I won't make that mistake this year!!!

lol....Ignorance should be out-lawed. Hollywood "elites" builds schools, raises money for charities, raises money for disasters, become "ambassadors to other countries...they are American citizens who happens to be artists. They are NOT your elected officeholders. Maybe you should ask your republican "elitist" congressman or senator about all those issues you want addressed. Maybe if they were busy padding Their pockets, they can help you with yours. You sounds so angry and its' misplaced at best. Then you vote to elect Romney, who will have yourarse in a factory Modeled after those unregulated slave camps he spoke about in his famous 47% speech to his corporate buddies. Then you'll be Chinese. Like that? You dont have a clue.

If you have wasted 44 years of your life looking at the lives of others, you should have been trying to improve yours. Milk, advil, grocery stores, all of it is produced by companies, GRANDMA and the prices for those things are now all high. I am sure when you started out, sodas were a nickel... The funny thing is that whether you or your other two croonies vote for Obama or not, Jay-z will still be rich and have all the advil he wants! LMAO

Generally, leaders of the free world have little trouble filling venues on their own. Obama rallies in Wisconsin fill to capacity quickly. The music may either rally the supporters or inspire different people to become engaged in the election. I see no harm in that. Furthermore, each candidate has used everything at his disposal to motivate the electorate. What would you rather hear, some good tunes or an attack ad?

So instead of "you can put lipstick on a pig", you can put piss on a flower and call it a Lily but it is still just a weed. Hop Off, Jay Z embodies the American dream because he was a drug dealer. He traded crack for turntables. His lyrics speak of a rags to riches story. He has refined rap from the Gangster rap era into a true artform. And Obama does not need to assasinate Romney's character, Rmoney's character speaks for itself.

Everyone should read the independent congressional report that a GOP senate minority suppressed (recently released) so that people would not have access to the report's findings that Romney's big tax break for the RICH would not stimulate the economy and would NOT create jobs. Guess who would benefit from Romney's tax breaks? He already pays less taxes than the majority of the middle class and keeps his wealth in the Cayman Islands and Swiss bank accounts to avoid paying his share. What a terrific president he would make! He would be disastrous!

Funny how Republicans talk about what they will do together with their allies once Romney is President. Do you really think you HAVE any allies left then? Well yes, perhaps Israel as long as Netanyahu is still in power there together with the extreme-right...

Make the right choice or be put in quarantaine for at least the next four years, curious how your recovery will work out then...

It is the nutcase far left that was the single most important thing that kept America quite safe for these last four years. To turn to Romney now would be an immense loss of image to the whole US worldwide. Obama was the perfect man to take away the wind out of the sails of muslim extremists. Trust me: Al Qaeda would vote Romney as well, Obama has done them to much damage, eliminating most of their leadership and causing them trouble in recruiting further. With Romney in power, it is the good old days returning for them, they will gladly celebrate the Romney Presidency with you on Election Night.

Obama was the perfect man to take away the wind out of the sails of muslim extremists.
        Huh? Care to explain:

Didin't think so! Noticed you used the word "was". What happened?

        November 2, 2012 at 1:14 pm |
      • Outsider

With 'was' I meant he was clearly the right choice in 2008, which he is also this year. America needs to realise that it is just another piece on the chessboard on the world scene. What happened in all those countries during Arab spring is not something you can control, to affirm otherwise is just a lack of realism. Unfortunately, these people have mostly elected muslim governments after they decided to uprise against their corrupt dictatorships. America has nothing to say in that, neither does any other country for that matter.

        November 2, 2012 at 2:45 pm |
      • Outsider

My previous reaction was targetted on Tunisia and Egypt, but also Lybia. What happened in Benghazi needs to be sorted out yes, but compared to the crimes against humanity of your previous administration, this is meaningless. Just a political opportunity to seize, nothing more...

Somalia is a whole different story, that has been a hopeless case since decades, where the end of the tunnel is now actually in sight. Every country has its own unique history and the way you list them all together is exactly what I fear for may Romney become President, lack of knowledge and diplomacy.

        November 2, 2012 at 2:52 pm |
      • Steveo

@Outsider, YOU said Muslim extremists! Where exactly are these Muslim extremists you speak of if not in those countries I named (to include Afghanistan). In addition, if you think we are "just another piece on the chessboard on the world scene", you are mistaken, yet we are quickly headed in that direction! I wonder why you think so little of this country!, that we are a mere piece on a chessboard?

        November 2, 2012 at 2:55 pm |
      • Outsider

I don't think little of your country, but I also think you should not consider yourselves as policeman of the world. I wish America to be more discrete(than in the Bush era), and to cooperate with international organisations such as NATO and the UN in order to resolve conflicats and intervene where necessary.

Muslim Extremists are to be found everywhere, even in my own city. Obama has just made it harder to hate America for extremists in general. He has cleverly haunted down Al-Qaeda where necessary whilst retreating from Iraq and Afghanistan. America is just more likeable with Obama as its President and more efficient in its war against Muslim Extremism.

        November 2, 2012 at 3:16 pm |
      • Steveo

@Outsider you said " Obama has just made it harder to hate America for extremists in general". Benghazi proves you wrong. We are hated for many reasons:

        We support Israel
        Women have equal status here
        We are a free people

These are a few reasons why extremists hate us. Btw we do work with our allies like NATO. We are always there with aid to help nations through natural disasters. We do that all the time but don't shake our hand today and spit in our eye tomorrow. As far as being the world police, we can no longer afford it yet it is inhumane to just sit back and see Syria slaughter their own people. I don't claim to have all the answers!

its time for us to stop being naive we knew that would get back to campaigning with only a week til election day. at least obama stopped for a couple days to tour and plan relief in new jersey with gov. christie. governor christie who just about a week ago slammed obama and his policies is now in interviews thanking the president and praising him for his visit and attention in new jersey. Romney campaigned as he was passing out food to those affected by the storm. we need to stop looking at one side of the story but look at both people and really see who they are and what they can do. stop looking at partisan writing and commentary and judge for yourself, have your own opinion.

Darn that now means that you have to actually go out and apply for a job now.....No More Unemployment for You!!!

        November 6, 2012 at 3:30 pm |
    • Jay in NC

The number of jobs added is derived from a government survey. The unemployment percentage (U3) is derived by taking the estimated number of people looking for work divided by the estimated total work force.

One of the reason the Unemployment number percentage dropped from around 10% to 8% is that fewer people are looking for work. If the economy ever does rebound it is thought that these people will start looking for work again, so the unemployment percentage may go up or down.

      OK, few more words to say about that;
      J. Christopher Stevens, Sean Smith, Glen Doherty and Tyrone S. Woods.

Obama should tell the truth. Why did he give the order to stand down? Why did this so called president sit and watch while these men were murdered?

      Obama should be impeached.

From Sen. Obama’s Floor Speech, March 20, 2006:

The fact that we are here today to debate raising America’s debt limit is a sign of leadership failure. It is a sign that the U.S. Government can’t pay its own bills. It is a sign that we now depend on ongoing financial assistance from foreign countries to finance our Government’s reckless fiscal policies. … Increasing America’s debt weakens us domestically and internationally. Leadership means that “the buck stops here.” Instead, Washington is shifting the burden of bad choices today onto the backs of our children and grandchildren. America has a debt problem and a failure of leadership. Americans deserve better.
In Obama's own words he is a failure. Do democrats have selective hearing? I believe so.

    November 2, 2012 at 2:29 pm |
    • RealityBites

Obama's lap poodles in the media are the ones with selective hearing, and reporting when it comes to their progressive messiah.

From day one they never questioned the guy, where he came from, who is associates were or what his qualifications were. They were too deeply in love with the false messiah and did everything in their power to fool the public. If by some chance he gets re-elected then the country deserves to be turned into a marxist state.

It's little wonder that under Democratic leadership, our country has been led into these dark times of dire economic circumstances, joblessness, dependency on government, a national debt ballooning completely out of control, and our military has been spread into every corner of the globe where our national security interests are not threatened!

This President has dangerous ideas about the role of government in our economic lives. When will we finally learn that free markets produce the strongest economies, highest standards of living, and are best equipped to meet the challenges of today and tomorrow?

As a registered Nurse, I never thought I would see the medical field get hit as bad as it has. Due to cut backs in Medicare, thanks to Obama, I have seen Hospitals not able to hire full time Nurses because they can't pay for their benefits as a full time employee. I have seen countless Doctors closing their practice to join together with other Doctors because they can't afford to practice alone. And now, they are trying to pass a Hospital Tax to keep Munroe Hospital running, which means our homes will be taxed to cover this. That is, if you still have a home!

i agree wiith 'outsider'...the world is watching and obama has done wonders for your country....it is very unfair to expect his administration to clean up a mess in 3 and 1/2 years when it took the previous admin 8 yrs to create the mess...point is, the economy has reversed and is trending positive....jobs being created as opposed to jobs being lost..mrtg & housing turning around, banks are beginning to lend etc
it is hard for us from the outside to understand why anyone would vote for romney when clearly he has changed every position he once held...has not released but 1 year of taxes....and is able to lie with a straight face (most recent...jeep production going to china, which chrysler themselves said not true)
lastly, i see a lot of talk about benghazi, however i think b4 pple trash this admin, they should get answers first about the intelligence bush had on 9/11 and then the lie the rebups told about the WMD for a war in iraq that killed thousands...nuff said

Depending his location he says what is convinient. Who needs /wants a president like that? We have a decent, hard working, consitent president who is going to win a second term. as president of this USA. Seems all the racist Rejects are on this site. They think this election is about Race. Race is being used as a tool for these fools. This election is about the good and fairness of a democracy vs the breeding ground for a Third world country with a few controlling everything. The republicans at the top knows this and at the end of the day.....you will be as poor as every other working person in the country and you will may as well be black then. You poor fool.

Im 64 and Ive lived through the 60s and etc... the racism Ive seen was from the blacks to the whites...not the other way around... the election of obama in 2008 proves this...and the fact that 97% of blacks will vote for obama. Sooner or later this country will wake up to the fact that we do not have racism in this country...and stop letting the marxist play us.

Wake-up America before it's too late. Do you have any idea who Obama's puppet master is? Soros. Soros wants to wants to decrease the benefits and pay for our brave men and women who protect our country. Obama has two Communists as his advisors: Valerie Jarrett and Van Johnson. If Obama wins our country will be controlled under a Socialist government. This means redistribution of wealth, which means everyone is dependant on the government ; which means Obama and his extremists have complete control and power. If you vote for Obama you are an idiot. If you prefer to live under a dictatorship, then move the hell out of our country.

Anyone who is paying attention will realize that Obama has done an excellent job! We can all still buy Chevys and Jeeps! pretty soon whether you like it or not you aren't going to go bankrupt if you get sick. We have not defaulted on any of our Treasury bonds despite Mitch McConnell and Paul Ryan's efforts to the contrary. Unemployment is falling and the economy is still recovering from the cataclysm created by George Bush and Dick Cheney. Biden hasn't shot anyone while goose hunting. All this and the war in Iraq is over and Afghanistan is drawing down.

Anyone who blames Obama for an anemic recovery without also citing Mitch McConnell's opposition to his jobs bill should open their eyes. The Republicans are just as much (and probably more) to blame for the economic mess and subsequent slow recovery as the Dems! If only people needed to take a news quiz before voting, then we could limit the electorate to those who know what's going on/what happened.
