Foiled WH arrival plans

According to multiple WH aides,  White House staff planned to assemble on the South Lawn to greet President Obama as he returned this evening but the arrival has now been changed due to weather, as pool has noted. POTUS will arrive by motorcade instead of chopper and that means only a limited pool of reporters get to see him come in and staff members who were looking forward to welcoming him home, no doubt with cheers, will not get to do so. Fair to say some disappointed folks here at the White House.

Jerry is wallowing in his bile. His sort will seek out anything – even the lamest – to try and come up with some way to bash the President. This is the only thing he's got, since Obama has done, according to a majority of the Aerican people (landslide of electoral college notwithstandng) a great job.

Jerry, get this straight, That is PRESIDENT Obama to you. Sorry if you insist on being a sore loser but, get used to it. Save your snide remards for the next candidate in 2016.

Jerry is a sore loser. Told ya that your idol mitt will lose. It is people like Jerry that is so bad to your party.

Let's move forward and get congress to pass some the Job Bills, Farm Bills and Veterans Bills.

Did you see the Forbes article? Romney cut off his staffer's credit cards in the middle of the night right after his hastily thrown-together concession speech. So many of them found their cards would not work when they tried to pay their cab fare home. I think those staffers were sadly misguided to ever support him, but having done so loyally and for what you can be sure was minimal pay, he didn't even have the decency to allow them to charge their cab fare home from the election night event. Americans really dodged a bullet with this guy.

HE DID SAY HE LIKED TO FIRE PEOPLE AND I GUESS THAT WASN'T JUST OUT OF CONTEXT.

BUT DUDE, AT LEAST LET THEM GET A CAB RIDE HOME. THAT'S JUST SAD.

“A democracy cannot exist as a permanent form of government. It can only exist until the voters discover that they can vote themselves largesse from the public treasury. From that moment on, the majority always votes for the candidates promising the most benefits with the result that a democracy always collapses over loose fiscal policy, always followed by a dictatorship. The average age of the world’s greatest civilizations has been 200 years.”

Bengazi is a moot issue. Is that all you bitter right wingers have to critcize?

      November 8, 2012 at 8:56 am |
      • Caramon

Are you willing to tell the families of the dead Americans it is a moot issue? They may want some answers about what happened, just like many have said about the Iraq war.

        November 8, 2012 at 11:11 am |
      • jean2009

Caramon....I doubt if you and jerry would believe any information even if you knew it was the absolute truth. Answer me why did Bob Woodward not believe Romney's supposed source? What I want to know is who funded the $5 million dollar movie that incited the violence? Obviously it was funded by someone who wanted to embarrass the president.

        November 8, 2012 at 12:08 pm |
      • Caramon

Well Jean, my comment had more to do with the importance of the event. Whenever Americans die it is never a moot point. If you recall, originally I said I would give the President the benefit of the doubt in this issue. Even the White House has had to admit that it was an organized attack and not random violence as the result of a movie.

        November 8, 2012 at 12:34 pm |
      • jean2009

@caramon....And who is to say a movie couldn't provoke an organized attack? In other words, could it be that you are admitting Citizen United's campaign ads were a waste of cash.

I AGREE THAT WE NEED RESOLUTION AND CLOSURE IN BENGHAZI, NOT JUST FOR OUR FALLEN BUT FOR OUR TIES WITH LIBYA AND OTHER COUNTRIES IN AFRICA AND THE MIDDLE EAST. WE NEED TO KNOW WHAT HAPPENED, ALL OF IT SO WE CAN PREVENT THIS FROM EVER HAPPENING AGAIN. BUT MOST IMPORTANT OF ALL, WE NEED TO RESOLVE THIS CORRECTLY BY WORKING WITH THE PEOPLE OF LIBYA SO THAT OUR AMBASSADOR WOULD NOT HAVE DIED IN VAIN.

        November 8, 2012 at 1:51 pm |
      • Caramon

Jean, it sounds to me like you have already made up your mind. The President said it was the video, then it must be the video. I agree with December. We need closure on this issue and it certainly is not moot.

WELL FOLKS, THIS HAS BECOME A MUCH HEATED DEBATE AND I THINK THE ISSUE WILL BECOME EVEN MORE DISCUSSED AS WE LEARN ABOUT CIA DIRECTOR PETRAEUS RESIGNING BY CITING AN EXTRA-MARITAL AFFAIR. I HOPE THIS SHOCKING DEVELOPMENT DOES NOT HAMPER OR DERAIL THE INVESTIGATION ON BENGHAZI.

        November 9, 2012 at 2:58 pm |
    • Lionel

Oh quit the Benghazi thing. I see McCain is still whining about Benghazi and not talking about the folks who need our help after Hurricane Sandy.

We need to get congress to do their job and pass the Job Bills, Farm Bills and Veterans Bills which they refused to do.

They have tried 33 times to repeal the Health Care Act instead wasting our tax dollars doing so.

      November 8, 2012 at 10:01 am |

      • jean2009

First maybe the House of Representative should actually raise tax revenue on those who can afford to pay more, and pass a Jobs Bill so those who don;t have a job will have a job and income to tax...that would certainly be more productive than the 4 years they have wasted trying to make a legitimately elected president a one term president..

Actually I think that paid operative troll Howard is no longer posting, and I do wish he had taken the whiner jerry with him.

        November 8, 2012 at 1:56 pm |
      • Caramon

Actually Jean, the House passed 30 jobs bills. They currently sit on Harry Reid's desk. I just want to understand. You think the government should first raise more money before they know how much they intend to spend? Once the government has made more revenue, what makes you think the Senate will pass a budget? They haven't yet. Both House and Senate must be ready to sit down and talk and figure out how much to increase revenue and how much is available to spend. You cannot simply blame this all on the Republican House.

      • DEcember 2012

IF WE ARE EVER GOING TO BE SERIOUS ABOUT TACKLING THE DEFICIT AND LOWER OUR NATIONAL DEBT, NOTHING SHOULD BE HELD SACRED. EVERYONE WILL HAVE TO PAY MORE TAXES AND THE FEDERAL GOVERNMENT HAS TO CUT SPENDING SIGNIFICANTLY. I HATE TO SAY IT BUT RON PAUL IS RIGHT, WE MUST ADMIT WE ARE BROKE AND THINK THAT WE HAVE ALREADY FALLEN OFF THE CLIFF IF WE ARE GOING TO BE SERIOUS ABOUT THIS. THE HARD PART IS COMING UP WITH SOLUTIONS THAT WILL NOT DRIVE THE ECONOMY INTO A DOWNWARD SPIRAL.

        November 8, 2012 at 2:20 pm |
      • jean2009

Caramon in other words do I understand you are saying the government doesn't need to raise the money to pay down the debt already accumulated. Plus, those 30 jobs bills you are touting according to many economists they would not create a single if any jobs. This according to senior economists Mark Zandi of Moody's Analytics, and Carl Riccadonna at Deutsche Bank. All those bills are targeted at doing is rolling back current safety and environmental regulations. Thank you very much but we already have enough health concerns without further deregulation of government protections.

I take it you lost no one in Benghazi? Neither have I. That does not negate the fact there was a serious secuirty failure. Sorry but this one doesn't need to get swept under a rug. Somebody owes us (not to mention, the families) a serious and truthful answer! To think otherwise is flat out foolish!

        November 9, 2012 at 9:34 am |
      • Steveo

Deecember, I am i agreement with you. No matter who is in the White house, the federal government is just not efficient. From the military to social programs to whatever the feds touch, there is room to cut something! The only thing sacred cows are good for is a BBQ!

        November 9, 2012 at 11:22 am |
      • krenz

I agree. The extremists that killed our ambassador don't get enough credit for their cleverness, they actually have us blaming our own President for their murders...Brilliant!. Instead of solving problems that CAN be solved here at home, we are fretting over a relationship with a people who will always hate us, and who will always find a reason and a way to murder us.When terrorists attacked the world trade center, they stated that life in America would never be the same. And they are right, it has come around to us blaming ourselves for their hatred, and their murder.

      • DEcember 2012

KRENZ, WHILE I AGREE WITH YOU THAT THE RESPONSE BY SOME REPUBLICANS TO THIS TRAGEDY HAS BEEN VERY POLITICAL, I AM HOPING IT WAS NOTHING MORE THAN A BYPRODUCT OF A CONTENTIOUS ELECTION YEAR. WE SHOULD ALL STAND TOGETHER TO BRING THE MATTER TO A RESOLUTION AS WE HAVE SOMEWHAT DONE WITH 9/11. HOWEVER, I DISAGREE WITH ISOLATING OURSELVES EVEN FOR THE SAKE OF SOLVING OUR BIGGER DOMESTIC PROBLEMS. WE CANNOT TURN OUR BACKS ON THE LIBYAN PEOPLE OR OUR AMBASSADOR WOULD HAVE DIED FOR NOTHING. IT'S NOT ONLY A GOOD POLICY TO HAVE A PRESENCE IN AREAS WHERE TERRORISM TAKES ROOT BUT WE ALSO HAVE TO SOFTEN THE APPROACH SO WE ARE NOT VIEWED AS INVADERS. I KNOW I MAKE IT SOUND SIMPLE BUT IT IS INCREDIBLY DIFFICULT, SO WE HAVE TO KEEP HOPING THAT THE WORK OF OUR BRAVE MEN AND WOMEN IN THE STATE DEPARTMENT CAN DELIVER A BETTER FUTURE FOR US WITH THE REST OF THE WORLD.

It is kind of MOOT, answers don't get pulled out of a hat just because YOU want so, as in every investigation it takes time to piece things together until a clear picture emerges. I a case like Benghazi it is even more difficult to piece together the intelligence and the facts of what really happened there.
But ANY RIGHT WING NUT JOB on the block has already solved it, Obama did it.
take a clue from this election...and move to the dusty shadows of the footnotes history...you are IRRELEVANT.

    November 8, 2012 at 9:43 am |
    • jean2009

There is one thing I know from being around 77 years. The electorate has an uncanny sense of getting it right...that is unless SCOTUS makes the choice for the first term.

The Republicans no doubt picked a decent person, who had to move so far to the right to please the idiot base of the GOP, that he had to remove all his former vestiges of common sense..He couldn't admit to having passed mandated health care in Massachusetts....He couldn't state that as governor he raised taxes by as much as $1200 a year on middle class citizens...plus many other things on which he had to take a moral flip-flop.

The electorate can wade through all the pre- election spin and flip-flops and spot insincerity and a lack of a moral compass. They can spot a man whose overwhelming desire to win the presidential prize will make him cave to the forces who ideal is to rig things so as to not best serve ALL the American people. .

So Doc that is what happened...I'm not sorry for your loss; but that is the honest truth. The electorate again picked the very best candidate, and the best is yet to come...

Tell me Jean, how many times do they need to recount votes before it counts. 2000 votes in Florida were counted once and recounted twice. This does include people in the panhandle who didn't vote because the media had already announced the winner even before the polls closed.

      November 9, 2012 at 10:57 am |
      • jean2009

        Caramon...Caramon

Jean, your comment about SCOTUS was related to the 2000 election. My response was about the 2000 election. Why suddenly change to the 2012 election?

Doc2.. You should at least show a little respect for the office of the presidency of the United States of American. By definition idiot = An idiot, dolt, or dullard is a mentally deficient person, or someone who acts in a self-defeating or significantly counterproductive way. Archaically the word mome has also been used. The similar terms moron, imbecile, and cretin have all gained specialized meanings in modern times. An idiot is said to be idiotic, and to suffer from idiocy. A dunce is an idiot who is specifically incapable of learning. An idiot differs from a fool (who is unwise) and an ignoramus (who is uneducated/an ignorant), neither of which refers to someone with low intelligence.

NOW let's look at Ignorant = Ignorance is a state of being uninformed (lack of knowledge).[1] The word ignorant is an adjective describing a person in the state of being unaware and is often used as an insult to describe individuals who deliberately ignore or disregard important information or facts. Ignoramus is commonly used in the US, the UK, and Ireland as a term for someone who is willfully ignorant.

No name calling just word association. I'm just saying...

Yet, you probably had no problem with the election, and re-election of one of the stupidest political figures that the world has ever known. George Bush. A clown, and alchoholic, mindlessly inept, a classic c student rich white boy, whose daddy had to find a way to make his name, and who left this country in the garbage. Instead, you call our very intelligent, and thoughtful President, an idiot. Truly unbelieveable.

@Steveo!. Although I appreciate your attempt to tell people to be civil. Let's admit since Obama has taken office he has been the most Disrespected President this country has ever had. To this day we have people calling to see his birth certificate, Asking for his transcripts from college and when I ask you has a sitting president even been yelled. Liar! while addressing the people in the congressional chambers. As my grand mother used to say if you can't take the heat get out of the kitchen. @Caramon! you're joking right. If you listen to fox news or most of the republicans the comments of "I can't believe people are that stupid" or "we are screwed" Let's show a little respect for everyone's belief. Especially the principles this country was founded on. The PEOPLE HAVE SPOKEN as most would say. Now RAISE the TAXES DAMMIT...

that being said I am being held up by the moderator. as to your comment about the 30 jobs bills according to many experts those bills would not create one job. Oh they would do a lot of damage in their deregulation of necessary environmental controls, but basically not create a single job.

Well, it's nice to know that the press can be disappointed about SOMETHING this President has done.

Notice what they're NOT disappointed about:
    – 23 Million Unemployed or Underemployed
    – a unemployment rate that would be over 10% if it were calculated the same way it was at the beginning of Obama's Presidency
    – a DEAD Ambassador (and 2 Marines and a support staff person).
    – Iran within spitting distance of being able to create a NUCLEAR WEAPON.
    – The rest of the Middle East on fire.
    – $6 TRILLION dollars of Obama Debt.
    – No budget in over 3 years.
    – A SLOWING economy
    – TENS of THOUSANDS of layoffs announced since ELECTION day.

Let's see if this makes it past the moderator at CNN.

As usual flying the wife and wiglets around at the taxpayers expense. ? You would think with the economy in the gutter he would set an example. But like Michelle My Belke said " my family were slaves" we owe them"!!!! Also his latest jaunt to blab in front of the Police Chiefs to push his Anti- Gun adjenda was another million dollar waste of taxpayers money. When he could have done it on tv like he did when he usedthose kids pushing his gun thing. But whenever his wife or brats want to go somewheres guess what our walkets get a little thinner. Can we afford them for another 4 years??? What about the lies on the documentation of Airforce one
