It's time to suspend all logic on the Republican side and realize the electorate doesn't care about facts or logic, and there are no Republican candidates capable of explaining it to them. Logically, the President should not have been re-elected. The economy is lagging a long at best, 4 dollar gas, muttled foreign policy, yet he can paint a highly successful business man with the exact right credentials we needed as greedy capitalist who hates women. Instead of fighting, we need to adopt the strategies of the left. Segment the population, promise them the world. Lie about our political opponents, and then make their policies our policies. No matter what happens, spin it to your advantage and attack the opposition that it's all their fault. What a great america we lived in. Welcome to new world.

No....Mitt Romney allowed himself be bought and paid for by the likes of special interest groups and individuals such as Donald Trump, Karl Rove, the Koch brothers, Sheldon Adelson and Citizens United basically because he has never achieved his dream of owning that toy the American Presidency. Those are the exact facts and logic the American electorate were fully aware of, and we were not buying it. So yes, working men, women, the elderly, the disadvantaged, and minorities all of whom were being portrayed as those greedy villians the 49% by the right did the one thing they could do...VOTE.

So I think you need to readjust your focus and look at the horrendous vile lies and spin told by the right. Vast sums of cash spent on trying to prove a black man was not a legitimate citizen of this country, claims that he was a socialis or a communist, that he never earned his college degrees or education, that the president planned to ban all guns so he can plot a coup (Really!), that he is a secret Muslim....and all was to go at the heart of delegitimizing him as a decent person....so try again Kevin it is sounding like you didn't hear the election results.

If anything I've learned from 77 years as an American... the American electorate is generally much smarter than you give them credit..... our ears have a way of hearing what is really being said over all the political din, and most generally we have a way of making the right choice.

A.) The president did not create the mess we are slowly digging our way out of...nor did he vote to take us into a second unfunded war without funding those wars with enough revenue not to tank the economy. The highest ever national average gas price was June/July 2008...$4.21 per gallon. And business men do not make the best presidents...Herbert Hoover, Warren G Harding, and George W. Bush were business men. You might want to suspend your form of logic it isn't making sense.

the president's ilk created this mess...and we are not digging out we are digging deeper. The debt of those wars barely shows on the 16 trillion and building. You see the ONLY hope for "digging out" is jobs...and there are none..and they will not be. Your master has alienated the job makers, from the first day he took office. He bought your vote with a free cell phone, abortion speak, and taxpayer funded union payoffs...and much much more...and you at 77 are so biased you will destroy all that is good and all that is HOPE! God bless men like Mitt Romney as he spoke with such dignaty, did an about face and walked out of your silly little life...get used to this, you will see the men and women of substance and hope do the same. In the end you will be standing there with your sign in the soup line still blaming them for your foolishness.

Sorry jerry but there you go again forgetting history, facts, dates, and timelines.....President Obama did not create the mess that happened in 2007 through 2008. Again who was president then? President Obama was the janitor sent in to clean up the mess.

Why do the lies and slander and attacks on Romney that the Obama campaign put out in order to win make you liberals feel so good? It worked unfortunately and now we'll see more of it in the future.

I know some of you are disappointed, but the facts are that the sincere, honest man who is really "self-made" (started with nothing) won.

The man who got the most votes who wants to works for all Americans, not the one who secretly speaks about blowing off half the nation. The man who stood up for women, family values, fair pay, affordable healthcare, freedom to choose religion without imposing one one everyone, manufacturing jobs, emergency response, steady recovery, cutting the deficit, tax cuts for 95% of Americans and small businesses, the one who created a recovery that employed 5.5 million Americans who were without jobs and grew the economy that was on the verge of collapse when he took office, a pathway to citizenship for all born in the US, civil rights of those wanting to vote without fear, gay rights, the one who changed student loans to get more of the funds directly to students without the middleman bank, the one who improved production of energy reducing dependence on foreign resources – but still cares about protecting the natural wonders of this country, the one who understands that science has a place in our education system – that American students are falling behind and need to have more emphasis on technical training, the one who ended one unfunded unnecessary war and is ending the second, the guy who cut the strength of the terrorist groups seeking to harm Americans and elimnated their leader, who regained the respect of the world (90% approval rating in the developed world in Novemebr) which had been lost by the prior administration, who helped reduce the number of loose nukes all over the world.and more not mentioned here.

And he did all of this in a civil manner while dealing with too many fact-challenged, rude, selfish, unproductive, uncooperative flip-floppers who stood for their party first and the best interests of this nation second. A reformed GOP that allowed narrow-minded interests to direct the actions of the least successful House of Representatives (2010 to 2012) in the last 100 years. A GOP party that threw their best leaders under the bus and replaced them with bigots, biblical throwbacks, women-haters, control freaks who wanted to micromanage and impair our right to vote, our right to make healthcare decisions, our right to a House of Representatives that is focused on doing their jobs- to manage the business of the country instead of pushing dozens of bills managing "ladyparts" while the credit rating goes down in flames, threats, obstruction, ignorance, stubbornness and unwillingness to accept basic science – like how long the earth has existed, and the condition of our roads and bridges, intolerance and color-coded societal strata. A GOP that clearly wants to keep the same old white guys in charge of what they perceive as the "rest of us"....

Mitt Romney went along with these cupcakes, told boatloads of lies, changed his position every day, stood for nothing, pretended to be from Masachussetts, New Hampshire and UTAH, refused to be open about 10 years of tax returns, clearly wanted to avoid discussion of how he really made his money – and never said a peep about Sensata or many other Bain Capital or Dephi stories just like them.

This was about trust, believability, equality and priorities placing the good of the country over party politcs. Clearly – the GOP didn't realize how important these basic American values still are.

Isn't it oddand telling that Michigan and Massachusetts both which were home to Romney, and Wisconsin which is home to Ryan didn't vote for their native sons...thatt says volumes.

Yes, Steveo we already knew that...and as the old saying goes for you and jerry you want to live in the past.... and post past facts. But you don't want to accept past facts, dates, timelines in regards to George W. Bush.

        November 11, 2012 at 1:50 pm |
      • Steveo

        and post past fact
Huh? NOBODY posts past facts better than you! You draw this imaginary line and it stops at Bush? What you fail to understand is Clinton had a hand in the crash in housing markets! Sorry, I don't live by you imaginary line!
