Obama to hold 16th full press conference

(CNN) – When President Barack Obama holds a news conference on Wednesday, it will be the 16th solo, formal White House press conference of his presidency.

It will be his first since winning re-election and since the resignation of his CIA director over an affair – both topics likely to come up on Wednesday.

Obama has taken reporters' questions in a variety of other forums, most recently in late August, when he made an unannounced stop at the regular White House briefing for reporters in the midst of the heated campaign and a week before the start of the Republican National Convention.

He confronted criticism of a video produced by the main super PAC supporting his candidacy which appeared to tie Republican presidential nominee Mitt Romney to a woman's death, as well as stood by his call for Romney to release his tax documents. He also addressed the controversial comments on "legitimate rape" made by Rep. Todd Akin, the Republican U.S. Senate candidate from Missouri.

Obama feverishly courted the youth vote ... but, when Pelosi is asked whether a younger congress person would be preferable to her, continuing her bid for House leadership ... Pelosi responded with the typical fake democrat indignation ... usually employed by Obama ... when asked for the truth ... just more liberal lies ... deception ... and cover ups ... God help America !!!

People need to get over the Benghazi thing. Thats all you hear form the right wing physcos, The are desperately trying to find something to cling on to with their bibles & guns. Just like the Ragan thing, I'm so sick of Ronald Ragan ! He's dead and thats good. He was no GOD like the republicans who like everyone to believe.

I am sure that is just what you would like, just to forget about it. Sorry but let's NOT get over it, and forget, about it! We need to find out what happened, hold people accountable, and fix the malfunction! How about you tell the families of the dead to get over it!

How about you tell the families of the 3000 dead on 9/11 to get over it. We know for certain that Bush was warned repeatedly about al Qaeda ... something that we don't know about Benghazi....but we have the ignoramuses who want to prejudge the event before any facts have been presented.

        Jean,

        Let me help you out:

        1. SUBJECT (per Italmn) is BENGHAZI and NOT 9-11
        2. Didn't you fuss at me last week about my Gore remark and accused me of posting the past? Yes, you did and now YOU are doing the same? NOBODY is addressing 9-11. We are talking about BENGHAZI! Thank you!

        November 13, 2012 at 7:15 pm |
      • Steveo

        Jean,

Unlike Italmn, I did not suggest anyone forget anything! I addressed the topic, which was BENGHAZI! As far as 9-11, we had better not forget! Is your answer to everything Obama gonna be Bush?

        November 13, 2012 at 7:38 pm |
      • Caramon

Jean, Is it wise to continue to use the Bush Presidency in order to justify what happens with the current President? President Obama was to be the un-Bush. You seem to do that quite often. Of course we shouldn't forget the 3000 lost in the World Trade Center. We are supposed to learn from mistakes, not repeat them or justify them. However, I would like you to know that I kept my promise and didn't vote for George Bush last week.

Steveo, some of us are waiting to hear from those who were and are investigating the Benghazi incident. Gen. Petraeus went there before the election on a fact-finding mission. He is to speak to Congress about his findings.

        November 13, 2012 at 9:04 pm |
      • Steveo

        Cynthia L,

I have no problem with what you said. My issue is with Italmn who suggest we just "get over it" and with Jean interjecting 9-11. The subject was Benghazi and not 9-11!

        November 13, 2012 at 9:20 pm |
      • Tom from Canonsburg

Did you hold Bush responsible for 9/11 and their not paying attention to Clinton, Clinton's staff and the federal workers left after the admin change warned Bush and his staff that Bin Laden was up to something big. I would bet a box of donuts that you didn't. Did you hold anyone accountable for the lack of WMD found in Iraq. I'd bet a 2nd box of donuts.

        November 13, 2012 at 9:30 pm |
      • Steveo

        Tom from Canonsburg,

Once more, the topic is Benghazi! Keep your donuts!

        November 13, 2012 at 9:34 pm |
      • freedom

        Totally agree with you Steveo.
@ Tom from Canonsburg – please don't bring up Clinton – who was carrying on like Patreaus in the Oval Office as a sitting president! He could have done more to prevent 9/11 than Bush ever could – as Patreaus could have probably done more for those unfortunate patriots in Benghazi. Weak men.

        November 13, 2012 at 11:00 pm |
      • jean2009

Well Steveo tell me what happened in Benghazi? Do you FACTUALLY know before the rest of us? Has there been one hearing held...NO! So don't prejudge what happened until the fact are in. We know the fact of 9/11...but you don't want to hear those facts, or even accept the truth of how many warning Bush had before 9/11 even by the CIA that will be testifying this time, but here you are all hopped up and ready to prejudge what happened in Benghazi without any of the real facts.

Maybe we send you to Washington to run the CIA since you are so informed already..

Well Jean IF you bothered to read, you will plainly see I had no issue with Cynthia's post in which she said folks are waiting for info. IF you bothered to read, you will also see I said I had an issue with Italmn who stated JUST GET OVER IT (Bengahzi). IF you bothered to continue to read, you will also see I had an issue with YOU feebly attempting to tie 9-11 to Benghazi.

Good reason to ask General Allen, who is in charge of the operations in Afghanistan, who just has been found to have sent somewhere between 20,000 and 30,000 pages of e-mails to a woman in Tampa, Fla., if he's paying more attention to her or, to our troops serving over there? So sorry for your friend losing their child to war.

HALF YOUR PAYCHECK TO THE GOVERNMENT IN 2013

The president is convinced Americans need to pay more in taxes. Here's what he said yesterday.

“I think everybody out there understood that was an important debate and the majority of voters agreed with me. By the way, more voters agreed with me on this issue than voted for me! So we've got a clear majority of the American people who recognize if we're gonna be serious about deficit reduction we gotta do it in a balanced way."

But let me tell you, come January 1, you're probably not going to be happy with the amount of taxes you're paying. That's because it's not just Federal taxes that you pay.

A middle class taxpayer pays 25% percent of their income in Federal Income Tax. Sounds, ok?

Then there is the Federal Social Security and Medicare payroll tax of 13.3%. You pick up 5.65% while you're employer pays 7.65%. Add them up and that's 38.3% of middle class family incomes going to Uncle Sam. But we aren't done, not by a long shot.

According to the Tax Foundation, the average state's income tax rate on the middle class is 4.82%. Of course, some states have it and some don't, but we're taking an average here.

Now the total: 43.12% of middle class income to taxes.

Oh, and I almost forgot, unless congress makes a move, Federal Income taxes go to 28% for middle income folks next year as the Bush tax cuts expire.

Neither party has said they want that to happen, but in Washington, well, you never know.

Also the payroll tax for those folks will go to 15.3% from 13.3%percent.

Did I mention state, property, corporate, and excise taxes? No?

All told, next year, total taxes will go to almost 50% for the middle class; the very group that the president says he wants to protect. That means 50 cents out of every dollar earned has to go to the government. Half of everything will go to an entity that didn't earn that money, and shouldn't be entitled to all that dough.

Unbelievable. You think most Americans agree that's fair?

        I don't think so.

I wonder if he'll have a stadium stand behind him with people on it. They seem to travel with him wherever he goes. And don't forget the teleprompter.

    November 13, 2012 at 5:17 pm |
    • jean2009

you do know if you type "Romney teleprompter" in your Google image search you will find 439,000 pictures of Mitt Romney using a teleprompter?

      November 13, 2012 at 5:49 pm |
      • freedom

Strange reply. We all know this president has a problem speaking off the top of his head, which raises the other issue that he can't stand alone and face the American people without people in stands behind him, or crowds cheering him on. That speaks volumes about him.

        November 13, 2012 at 6:01 pm |
      • jean2009

Which only means everyone today uses a teleprompter including Mitt Romney, each of the other candidates including Paul Ryan....and yes that includes the last holder of the office George W. Bush who also used a teleprompter. If you don't believe me do that Google Image search I suggested....or maybe it is that you don"t know how to do an image search,

From your line of thought ...I take it you don't care that Mitt Romney had to rely on a teleprompter because he couldn't speak off the top of his head, and still remember exactly when and where his owners expected him to flip-flop on several of his previous statements. That would also mean that Paul Ryan couldn't remember how and where to smooth over his lie, so as not to tell people how his tax plan was actually arranged to favor the rich and enslave the poor.

May I include I think your whole line of thought shows a total lack of insight and knowledge about why people use a teleprompter....or maybe it is that you are just a sore loser and an idiot..

How is Scott wacky? And for a Republican to even have a chance in my state, that is only 16% Republican, is pretty amazing. And you have forgotten that other states went all Republican, and Warren only got in because of her party. Almost no Republicans backed her, but Brown had a sizable Democratic backing. Democrats claim they want bipartisanship yet vote out the most bipartisan senator. I don't get it.

Dan ...sorry, but if a state is 16% Republican and 84% Democratic and they voted for Scott Brown once; and they didn't reelect him that says to me he wasn't what they expected. It also say that Elizabeth Warren obviously has a lot of wonderful qualities. She really rocked the Democratic convention as one smart lady. Obviously Scott didn't meet their standards for his being flexible, and as right-wing nut bought by the Koch brothers.... he tried to smear the president as being illegitimate ...

...and please quit impugning native Americans, they do have a right to hold office. Besides I have nieces and nephews who are part native American; plus some of my Indian ancestors met the boat when this country was being settled.

WE ARE familiar with Elizabeth Warren. She was picked by Obama for a Consumer Protection Agency she help craft to keep us from the claws of the banking/finance industry and was denied the position by the Republicans and they made sure the agency wasn't funded. It was all on television – Republicans don't care about the regular guy. She's on the side of the American people and here, I congradulate her for her win to the Senate. We need her smarts and her determination to make sure Wall Street doesn't rip off Main Street again, seeing as they didn't help much returning the favor. Go Elizabeth!!
