Friday at the White HouseWashington (CNN) - President Barack Obama has no public events on his schedule and there is no press briefing scheduled Friday, on the same day the Labor Department releases its November jobs numbers. Obama will meet with senior advisers in the Oval Office and later sign the Child Protection Act of 2012 in the Oval Office, away from cameras. Vice President Joe Biden will have lunch with a group of “middle class Americans” who would see their income taxes go up if Congress does not extend the middle class tax cuts. The Biden excursion is the latest public push from the administration's stance in the ongoing fiscal cliff negotiations. One of the lunch's expected participants participated in the #My2k campaign, according to the White House. The Twitter campaign resulted in the president answering questions online and encouraged Americans to detail how the would be affected should their tax levels not be extended at the end of the month. 11:45 a.m..: The president meets with senior advisors: Oval Office 12:20 p.m.: The president signs the Child Protection Act of 2012: Oval Office |

another 3 day weekend
He can't wait til we go off that cliff !!!
U6 Unemployment remains at 14%. More people dropped out of the workforce completely again and yet they "claim" the rate went down. Ok guys the election is over so quit lying for Obama.
I wish that the u.s. government would stop paying overtime pay for federal employees. This might not be the place for suggestions but so much money could be saved if we stopped that pratice except for essential personel.
Obama is the only one winning when we go off the fiscal cliff, and all of his friends in Washington. This doesn't benefit America... Wake up Obama. Rhetoric time is over, start working.
YOU SHOULD WAKE UP YOUR REPS IN CONGRESS AND TELL THEM VACATION TIME IS OVER. IT IS TIME TO TAX THE RICH.
December 2012 ... all your non-stop cheer leading for your Dear Leader ... and Furher, Barack Obama ... will soon be cancelled out, by reality, as Americans experience the pain of Obama's inflation ... higher taxes ... and continued corruption ... then, the readers of these blogs will remember you, and your fellow condescending and rude obama defenders, with scorn and disdain. Enjoy your false sense of superiority while you can.
That may happen December, the question lies on how much spending Dems are willing to cut and how much money makes someone rich. 250k in NYC with a small business dual income isn't rich
ISN'T RICH COMPARED TO WHO? MITT ROMNEY? IT'S PLENTY RICH COMPARED TO PEOPLE ON FOOD STAMPS.
AS FOR SPENDING CUTS, JUST WHAT SPENDING CUTS DO YOU WANT? WHY CAN'T REPUBLICANS BE VERY CLEAR ON WHAT THEY WANT TO CUT? TELL US WHAT YOU WANT TO CUT AND TELL IT TO THE AMERICAN PEOPLE. GOD KNOWS OBAMA ALREADY TOLD EVERYONE WHO HE WANTS TO TAX. DO YOU WANT OBAMA TO DO YOUR DIRTY WORK FOR YOU TOO?
WHY DON'T REPUBLICAN LEADERS GO ON RECORD THAT THEY WANT TO CUT MEDICARE. WHAT ARE THEY AFRAID OF? PROBABLY THE VOTERS WHO MOSTLY VOTE REPUBLICAN.
Are you making your comments more impressive by using All Caps?
Then tell them to get a job & work hard & maybe they too can be "rich". Face it – you are a brainwashed liberal who will NEVER EVER admit that Obama & the Dems could be or are wrong on any subject. Therefore, you opinion is worth about as much as used toilet paper. You like the way I used caps like you?
@ Dan,
Let me help you understand so that you don't sound like a complete baffoon.....If someone makes $300k in New York, and for the sake of argument we say that person is not rich; well good news, Tax Increase will only cost this person an extra $1500 dollars. In other words taxes have only increased on the $50K over the 1st $250K. I know its hard for people like you understand basic math, but that seems to be an issue for the party of No for quite a while now. But at some point we are all hoping you guys get it figured out. If the GOP/Tea-a-Tards don't get a grip, they are going to crash the economy and the american people will blame the party of "NO Math"
December, I don't know what part of the country you're from, but I can tell you in New England, 250k before taxes ain't overwhelming. Plus, people on food stamps don't pay taxes. If you live in Boston, and you live there because you own a small business there, then 250k dual income isn't rich.
@Dan, In New England it appears the populace isn't very coherent, at least specifically you. The 1st $250K of income IS NOT GOING TO SEE AN increase. If someone makes $350K per year, they are only going to pay an extra $3000 increase, Get over it dude! Either you don't understand math or you don't understand the discussion....which is it?
Obama sure has it in for the rich! And liberals will call me racist! Obama didnt mind that high dollar school his rich grandparents sent him to! What a waste he didnt learn anything! He discriminates against anyone that doesnt share his warped vision! We all let him take us for a ride and now we have to pay the piper! All of us not just the top people they hardly use government assitance anyway!
I don't understand 2 things Democrats do... They think everything Republican is racist and they hate rich people
awww Dan B....time to pull up your big boy pants. You sound frustrated and cry-baby. Racism is obvious and if you think aren't a number of americans that vote strickly by color of skin, then you weren't born or raised in this country. Ever heard of the civil war. And here's a shocker, a majority of the Tea Potties are racists.
And no Dems, don't hate rich people....because the majority of rich people voted for Obama. Look up exit polls for the well-to-do areas...especially Hollywood and the like. By contrast, Its greedy ignorant fools that happen to be rich, that are not well received. Here endeth the lesson
IT IS TIME TO PAY A LITTLE MORE IN TAXES IF YOU WANT THE COUNTRY TO PAY ITS DEBTS. WHAT IS SO HARD TO UNDERSTAND HERE? STOP WHINING.
Why don't you volunteer to pay higher taxes December if you are in favor of them. Plus, the deficit problem WILL NEVER GO AWAY WITHOUT SPENDING CUTS. Mathematically raising taxes cannot fix the problem
