And has to fly to Vegas for this?? Really ?? "campaign-style event in Las Vegas"....this man just never stops does he....both campaigning and wasting our $$$........ remember the time he urged all of us hard working Americans to stay away from there???
Obama says he wants no "enforcement triggers" attached to any immigration laws. Does he really want a solution? Or is this issue better for him if no bipartisan solution is found?
BTW, when dumb libs talks about "these new illegals will be placed in the back of the line behind others who have followed the rules". This is total spin from the dems. From my point of view I see two lines. My aunt, who wants to be here, who has not begun the "formal process" yet because she is caring for a parent in Portugal, will be placed behind these 11-20 million who came here illegally.
One more thing, almost 30% of our prison population are illegals. Are these the people we are putting ahead of my aunt? And these people are not required to do anything other than cross the border illegally?
30% and then how many are black? Who are the ones using the guns on each other? Stop the usage of race and look at the facts and we might just get something down with the violence problem in America....or do we just continue to be used for vote/power grabbing?
THis president drives me insane sometimes- Congress is working on a bill, but because he doesn't like every single detail in there he is not really waiting for it to be drafted. Ayyy.
Un believe able !! Does this idiot have any idea about the economy ?? Unemployment ?? just once he needs to put America ahead of his stupid ideas, this creep is worse than CARTER, you voted for it enjoy it.
Do you really think Republicans will pass a jobs bill which would mean more spending? Come on now, try to know your party.
An immigration bill is the closest these idiots in Congress will ever get to an agreement. The Republicans need it because they looked bad in the previous elections, and the Democrats want it because... well, I'm not really sure why. Wouldn't more cheap labor go against labor unions?
The Obama administration has the highest rate of deportation of illegal immigrants than any previous administration. A majority of those deported are those that have criminal backgrounds. Given this fact, an enforcement trigger seems rather redundant, so it just more talking points and does not address the real immigration problem: an outdated system that needs to fixed from top to bottom. If you had to wait for almost 3 decades for your papers, then there is something terribly wrong with the system. We had to turn away some productive foreign students after they have graduated from our top colleges because of the system. Reform is needed and it needs to be comprehensive.
hey bozo...illegals have been flocking back to mexico in droves. The obama economy is forcing this, many are just getting free rides home at our expense. This is a fact, we have not seen this in 40 years (since this began in the 1970s)
So you agree with me then, even with your anti-Obama slant, that enforcement triggers is rather pointless. Good to know!
no 2012...the fact is obama has failed at this as he has on every thing he has touched... he's just going to take more credit and play with your mind as usual.
Right. He failed because there are now less illegal immigrants in the country since he started. Most Republicans will take that result any day of the week but since it has an Obama tag on it, they see it as a failure. What a bunch of hypocrites.
If they've immigrated here illegally they are in fact ILLEGAL IMMIGRANTS. Keep using your word games liberals. Undocumented immigrants or your new on undocumented Americans? Really? HA HA HA HA
republicans need the Hispanic vote pure and simple. They don't care about the people just the numbers. They will change their principals on anything if it helps them get elected. Unions will benefit because low wage workers are the people mostly represented by the unions. These are the people that join a union to improve their benefits. Democrats also see the writing on the wall and want to improve their voting base but they also believe that we are loosing a lot of bright young people who would serve this country well. breaking up familys is not something we want to do. The republicans continue to keep their heads in the sand. The president has not brought forth his plan but wants to see what the bipartisan committee comes up with first. If they screw it up which is likely then he will step in. It is too bad that people like moose and maria acdc and john. are so ill informed . why do they bother posting when they don't have a clue?????
So the Dems don't need the hispanic vote either?
Also one of the priorities should be fast tracking the immigration of capable doctors as we now have a shortage in many hospitals. It will only get worse once Obamacare kicks in full gear.
It is a nice thought. But, how many illegal immigrants are doctors? Unless you are suggesting that they fast track additional immigrants to make up for the shortage. Wouldn't this possibly leave shortages elsewhere?
"Unions will benefit because low wage workers are the people mostly represented by the unions"
Sue, are you certain about this or are you guessing?
Congress finally does something and Obama just jumps in to create controversy. He needs to learn how to work with the other side.
narcissistic personalities dont work with others or share credit.
I guess you would know.
A lot of you all are pathetic. You lack respect for President Obama. Yes, this country is not perfect and will probably be no where near perfect anytime soon. This guy is not God! He's the president! If anybody should be complaining it should be the African Americans who's ancestors built this country, and have not still received any reparations. I find it very comical that everyone wants to bash President Obama when he gets in to office but does not want to blame Bush for what he did. Think about it...
