Well there is nothing like ignoring the Budget Nea?

Why hasn't CNN written on the fact that for the third time, Obama has missed the deadline for submitting his budget? I read that in today's Washington Post. Yet, I can't find anything on CNN's website.

The United States has not passed an actual real budget since 1997. Bill Clinton was President, Newt Gingrich was Speaker of the House.... and only on his second wife.

And Clinton was on his third affair with a girl his daughter's age.

While Newt was cheating with the young Calista and pushing for impeachment for Clinton for lying at the same time Newtie Boy was. Such low-life activies on both men's parts (pun intended).

      • Caramon

Although I do agree that the impeachment was over the top, Newt did not lie under oath. Personally, I find the actions of both disgraceful. I simply don't condone cheating no matter who you are.

Right hand extended too far, stock setting too high on shoulder, tense arm muscles=holding gun too tight, sight line too low as well as shooting too low, not leaning into the shot, appears to have extended choke on upper barrel but not on the lower... I shoot sporting clays all the time, this man does not......

Ok, you got me, but since I live in the frozen tundra, I'm limited to my gun clubs’ schedule, March-October. During that time, I get in at least 100rnds a weekend with my son, that's two 50rnd sporting clays. Once during the week for our league shoot, that's another 50rnds. Travel to a few charity events throughout the year along with a local one , Miracle for Mitch Foundation. Flying to Houston in March for the Carl McCain Foundation Tournament. Do the Boot's in Shoot in San Antonio. Let's see, oh, NFL Alumni shoot Super Bowl weekend in Dallas couple years ago, that was lots of fun. Throw in pheasant, grouse and dove hunting on top of all that. By no means am I an expert but avg 42-44/50, best score 48/50. Still chasing the elusive perfect 50/50. I shoot a Beretta 686 White Oynx O/U 12ga. w/ improved choke on the upper and modified choke on the lower and prefer Fiocchi brand ammo. Have plenty of pics but can't post them here.........

It seems to me that you do shoot actively enough to be considered to be doing it 'all the time' and I don't see anything wrong with that. You don't have to send a pic, I believe you.

Having said that, what does your proficiency have anything to say about your stance on gun violence? Absolutely nothing, at least nothing that you would have already said separately otherwise. The same goes for the President, picture or no picture.

The president's shooting stance will be some different than that for a right-handed shooter....he is left-handed.

      February 5, 2013 at 5:32 pm |
      • acdcguy

Jean, that's like saying left handed people ride a bike different than right handed people. Technique is still all the same......but i'll let you slide, good try tho......

        February 5, 2013 at 7:09 pm |
      • Cynthia L.

My left-handed younger brother got on and off his bicycle from the other side than I, a right-handed person, did. He almost wrote upside down on his school papers so the writing would turn out right-side up.
@ acdcguy – would you still be able to free yourself from a long and tangled telephone cord if it was twisted to the left? Or, would it be harder the other way around, say, if it was twisted to the right??........I'll just enjoy the thought of watching you do it.....PLEASE feel free to send pictures.

        February 5, 2013 at 7:31 pm |
      • jean2009

Ask a knitter or a person who crochets...or a golfer...some people who are left handed have a real problem learning to do those types of activities.

Also, I don't know what you have read about the shooting range at Camp David was installed during the Eisenhower term.....but it is actually stocked with both right and left handed guns. There are actually pictures online of John F. Kennedy shooting at the Camp David retreat with David Niven and Ben Bradley. Plus, Kennedy's shooting stance is just the opposite but the exact same stance as President Obama's.

        February 6, 2013 at 10:10 am |
      • acdcguy

I really was planning on ignoring some these ignorant responses but now it's just gotten funny........right and left handed guns, yes they do make them, they are semi-auto's, shells eject from the side, so yes would be important to use a compatible model so not to eject shells toward your face.....O/U, over/under, as The King is shooting, there is only one kind, can be shot by left hander or right hander as you determine where u want the shells to eject or just grab the empties to save if you are a re-loader. Ref: riding a bike, as in riding, not getting on or off a bike. Ref: my shooting activities and/or charities, .really don't care if you believe me or not, just shows your bitterness towards others.........as for the tangled telephone cord, I got nothing..............good luck!!!!

Cynthia L....... smoke coming out of the barrel? my book, he's shooting........ok, enough of this silliness...... I'll wait for another topic to pop up and dazzle you with my brilliance.......

        February 6, 2013 at 11:56 am |
      • Cynthia L.

Okay, acdcguy, he IS shooting, and by the other poof of smoke over the barrel, it was at least a second shot. He was riding the bike. He was following the skeet to his left. When we shot skeet from a ground level position of the skeet launcher, it was different from a range whose clay-pigeons were launched from a higher position. Ground game take-off vs. game already flying across the horizon at a higher level proved my father had better success with the ground take-offs than those that were already in full-flight. I'm looking for a photo taken of my dad shooting in a cornfield at a pheasant after take-off.
My question is this, my dad was 6'3" which of course gave him longer arms than a shorter man. I would think that the leverage difference is somewhat of an issue in just that area alone if the shooter is to balance the rifle with the offset of the balance of his own body height and reach and would place a different hand-set.
Nobody on here thinks Obama is a regular gun shooting guy, and neither was my dad. But, the proof of the pudding would still be if he actually scored a hit – good hand position or not. AND THAT we don't know. Cheers.

        The Nat'l Shooting Sports Foundation, who helped with the shooting range at Camp David just came out with advice for Obama on shooting. Here's what they said;
Leaning further forward into the shot to better manage recoil w/ feet shoulder width apart. Since Obama is shooting left-handed, he may want to look into another stock cast AND if getting a custom gun, to make sure they measure his length of pull first. Proper gun fit makes an enormus difference in accuracy and of the enjoyment of the sport.

      • jean2009

Well alphetbet guy you just proved you know very little about guns.

The difference between a right-handed and left-handed rifle or shotgun is this:

"The side from which the spent cartridges eject, and the placement of the bolt, are the only differences. There are single shot rifles, as well as bottom-ejecting rifles, which are ambidextrous. The right or left "handedness" of a long gun has nothing to do with accuracy. It only makes a difference in your comfort when ejecting shells, or which hand you use to cycle the bolt on a bolt action rifle.

The difference between a "right handed" and "left handed" shotgun stock is the way it is cast. Cast is the direction it is offset from the center of the barrel. "Most" right handed shooters require cast off which means, from the right shoulder, the stock is offset away from the rib allowing some space for your face. "Cast on" is what most leftys shoot which means, from the right shoulder, the stock is closer to your face than the rib. From the left shoulder, this then allows room for your face."

Not all manufacturers cast for the difference...but several do.

This was posted by the National Shooting Sports Federation that supplied the updated equipment for the skeet range at Camp David: "In the statement, the NSSF also offered Obama a bit of constructive criticism on his shooting stance: “Mr. President, try leaning a little further forward into the shot to better manage recoil. Keep your feet about shoulder width apart, and put more weight on your leading foot.” Because the president is a lefty, Keane recommended he try one of the left-handed semiautomatic shotguns that have also been donated to Camp David.- Larry Keane President NSSF on PBS Frontline wwwpbs.org

Well alphabet guy you better do some serious education about guns you just showed how lacking you are in that field. There are right and left cast shotguns and rifles with different bolt action set up and shell ejecting configurations on the market to accommodate those who use either their right or left hand. Not all companies make them, but they were supplied for the range at Camp David by the professionals that set up that range..

I am being held up by the moderator....but some research should get you to that informaiton.

First of all, the article is about immigration, not Obama's shooting form.
With regards to immigration, I haven't heard anyone suggesting that America should take responsibility for allowing 12 million people to enter our country and/or overstay their visas. Admittedly, a criminal is a criminal. But, who can blame people for seeking a better life for their families?
We allowed them to enter illegally. So, we only have ourselves to blame. I suggest that we secure our borders to stop the immigrants from entering the country illegally; say, "Fair enough." to those who are already here; and say, "Get in line." to those who want future citizenship.
    Problem solved.

Obsessing over a picture which cannot be proven fake is a sign of low intelligence. Move on. What difference does it make in your life that the President can shoot skeet or not?

And what does it mean you didn't vote for it? You cannot vote on legislation unless you are a member of Congress (in which case, what the heck are you doing here?) You most probably voted for the Republican President (Reagan) that introduced said legislation that provided amnesty to millions of illegal immigrants last time.

Actually December, it may not be a bad idea if members of Congress entered the forum. Then they would know more about what the public thinks. I have sent comments to Congress members before. All I get in return is the same old form letter. I would bet anything they never read anything I sent.

I guess I shouldn't really rule out Moose being a Congressman. Their hours are flexible enough to loiter around here I suppose.

The last time I actually got a response from anyone in Congress was in response to a form letter opposing SOPA. It was from Senator Menendez of all people and I am guessing all the uproar from so many people on the Internet just couldn't be ignored. I guess it takes a united front with some powerful allies like the tech giants to get any response.

Menendez still sends greetings once in a while, which is creepy given the scandal he is in.

      • jean2009

Don't give me that lame phony I didn't vote for it...if you pay taxes and live in this country you didn't do anything to stop it so yes...you voted for it.

Since 1986, we have passed seven amnesty bills for those illegally in this country...none of which are effective at stopping illegal immigration. Reagan's 1986 bill that granted amnesty to 3 million was supposed to impose strict sanctions against employers who hired illegal aliens. Well Hello! that part of the legislation was pulled out of the bill at the last minute by Republicans, because of the outcry from Republican employers.

So get off the "I didn't vote for it" Illegal immigration didn't just come into being during the last four years..it has been around for decades. Some of those here illegally have grandchildren born in this country.
