Hey CNN, there are pictures out there of Rosa Parks actually sitting on the bus. Maybe that would have been more appropriate? I have seen this picture on CNN at least 4 times on 4 different stories already.

Don't you see the irony here, Republicans have been obstructing him since he took office and do not want to accept the fact that he is our President and was elected by the people with over 3 million more votes.

It seems to me the current "Obama crisis" was brought about because the repubs said yes. Just so we are all clear – this time you libs wanted the repubs to stop the sequester and say no instead of yes, but all the other socialist-like proposals – the repubs should have said yes instead of no?
Now, Obama does not want the responsibility of deciding where the cuts should be made? Do I have that right? What kind of a leader wouldn't want that responsibility instead of "just letting the across the board cuts happen"? Blame the repubs all you want, but the people are beginning to pay attention to the lies.
Lionel, if I recall, the President did not elect or select our representatives. They were elected by the people in their district. Therefore they represent the people in their district. These people did not elect or re-elect them to side with the President.
As for Rosa Parks, I agree she should be recognized. But to say that she hasn't been recognized in the past simply shows that you have not paid attention.
Does anyone else think when things are going well for this administration we get 4 or 5 new articles here. But, when things are not going well we get nothing new?

@John, Mr. Obama is for the middle class. This is why he fought for health care reform, student loans and no tax increases. Once the Republicans start working for the middle class, I will reconsider my vote, other wise they are in trouble for the next election.
I am as middle class as it gets and I do not feel the love. The taxes at the beginning of this year, the government pay raise at the end of last year and the war against basically everything that doesn't support the Obama agenda is why.
Now they are talking more taxes to avoid the so called "cliff". They are not for the working middle class.

Rosa Parks was everybody´s hero . Whether you´re Black , Brown Yellow , Red or even White , she was
and still is an inspiration for all of us . What I´m mad about is that they had republicans there . The same

Oddly, you're right. Parties change, don't they? I was a life long Republican until George Bush jr came along with his band of brothers (Cheney, Rumsfeld, Rice et al). No more. WG, the deficit is growing. Maybe the annual projections are shrinking since 2009 when the President took office. But the overall deficit is growing. It does not take a news station to do simple math. In 2009 the deficit was 10 or 11 T. Now, it is over 16 T. That means it is growing. Now, who are these experts you are quoting?

Sienna, agreed. The deficit has been growing since the turn of the 20th century. Yet, supporters of the President are trying to tell us the deficit is shrinking. In actuality, the deficit isn't shrinking, it is simply growing at a slower rate. We have gone from cutting the deficit in half to cutting the annual growth in deficit in half. Has any President before tried to convince people the deficit is shrinking?

Would the Americans United for Separation of Church and State fight to get her statue out of the Capitol or to keep images of her out of school an other government buildings? I have all the respect in the world for what she did, but I am using this event to make a point that what we as a community decide to recognize should not be construed as the governments involvement in religion or vice versa? If the 10 commandments or a image of Jesus Christ are displayed at a public school is it any different than a statue of Rosa Parks at the Capitol? Didn't they simply both stand up for what they believed was right? How did the statue of Mother Joseph make it into the Capitol? The AU folks must hate that!

I havnt seen the statue of Parks yet but i hope its better than that communist looking monstrosity of a statue of MLK. As a Reverend i am sure he would have be proud of it. I took my family to the Birmingham Civil Rights Museum about 2 years ago. We spent a lot of time looking and reading. Besides us it was completely empty the whole time. I really think that the whole Civil Rights movement has been taken over by those who want to proclaim in public they are of the same cloth as MLK but behind the scenes do nothing to bring the races closer. So we have another statue which will grow dusty once the photo-ops are over and the politicians and Civil Rights Leaders will get into their limos and drive off.
Elections have consequences and the will of the people should be acknowledged...so why is Obama trying to overturn the will of the people of California. They voted to ban same sex marriage but the administration apparently knows whats best. This was good to unveil this, and it actually brought party leaders together to take off the veil over it... literally of course, party leaders had to be there.
