What's for lunch?![]() SAN JUAN, Puerto Rico (CNN) - During President Obama's four-hour visit to Puerto Rico, he made a surprise stop for lunch at the Kasalta Bakery, near San Juan's beaches to dine with the president of the opposition party, Alejandro Garcia Padilla. What did the leader of the free world order? A "medianoche" sandwich - which is a Cuban sandwich with ham, pork, swiss cheese, pickle and mustard on sweet bread and 2 ham croquettes. He washed it down with a bottle of H2O. Did you know?![]() It's been 50 years since a sitting American president has made an official trip to the U.S. territory of Puerto Rico. Today President Obama travels to San Juan to fulfill a campaign promise to visit as President. Though Gerald Ford traveled to the US territory as president in 1976 to attend an economic summit, the last formal presidential visit was by John F. Kennedy in 1961. |
